The little guy is in my prayers, but so are you. ;)

It's great to hear good news.

Such great news!

Seems like the little fighter is on his way to chubby status.

It still amazes me what can be done!

3lbs 15oz, just a few grams from 4lbs!

Progress!

For those keeping track, the little guy hit 4.6#s and is on CPAP only. Still using a feeding tube.

The hospital is mostly locked down, but not being overrun so he's getting great care.

No date yet as to when he could leave, and right now everyone is happy he is where he is.

Sooner or later 03-25-2020 09:23 AM

Thanks for the update. Great news!

I give him the "Sunshine" title, because his struggle is our hope.

Love this!

Great! Hope he keeps gaining weight and gets out there soon.

astrochex 03-26-2020 04:42 AM

Great news! Its wonderful to see the term "happy" in an update.

The big guy has crossed the 5# mark and is getting stronger.

He's starting to get to the development stages where they are testing him for ROP For those who've been there before you know that these tests are very traumatic for the baby and especially for the parent.

I'll update again as I know more.

pwd72s 04-01-2020 10:00 AM

Again, thanks for the update...

Thanks for the update. Hope the test goes well.

Keep growin little guy!!!

As things continue on the right track, the urgency to post updates seemed to go away. The 'dire' situation is all but passed.

My nephew is making great progress! He's 6#6oz now and continuing to grow.

Eyes will get checked again in a few months.

Needs a bit more lung development to be able to handle eating on his own. Feeding is exhausting.

Then they'll make plans to go home where he'll enter a very strange world where Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins can't come to visit. What a time to be born.

Thanks for 'listening'.

93nav 04-17-2020 02:50 PM

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Hope for the day soon where he can be called 'fatty'!

We need good news like this! Thanks for sharing!

Coming into this thread late in the game...So glad to hear it's on its way to a happy ending!

My sister was a premie, I'm not sure exactly how much she weighed, but she fit in the palm of my dad's hand and they dressed her in doll clothes for quite a while. She just celebrated her 46th birthday yesterday, so there are definitely plenty of "success stories" when it comes to premature babies. Glad your little guy will be another one.
