In order to bring this back to the original topic of Canada, I just heard on TV that General Franks announced that US forces are now moving toward Syria. Than after that, they're going to come home by way of Canada and kick some butt there. A fitting end to a world tour.

You still haven't beaten us in Hockey, yet you stole all our teams.

......ya think you can go with us in a war???

We'll just overpower you with "niceness" and manners.

Big army's are like big penises.....they can get the job done, but if they go to far, someone gets hurt that wasn't supposed to.

I have no idea what that means, but I felt like making up a quote.

.....and if you do attack, we will take a page out of this lil' fellas book of passive resistance.....

Wasn't me - that was an e-mail I got.

I couldn't Photoshop my way out of a wet paper bag. I know how to size things, that's about it.

Picture is still cute/funny, if you put aside the situation inwhich it is supposedly happening.

Whoever Photoshoppped it must be Iraqi - look at the member on that kid!!

It really depends how you want to read the Bible. I like this bit (Matthew 22:34-40):

"Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

That sums up what the Bible is about. Easy.

Alternatively, you can take stuff individually and consider it without any context. For instance, if you are Catholic, you get to enjoy a few gems such as (from the Book of Sirach) "A husband with a nagging wife is like an old man walking up a sandy hill".

More appropriately, lots of stuff in Leviticus. Some of that really needs to be considered in a historical context...

Could be......

Kinda like Saddam himself stood guard for America for 30 years.

Why is Osama Bin Laden not "terrorizing" the Saudi "royal family"?

Bill, That's a great question, if you really want to know, pick up the current issue of "The Atlantic" magazine. Cover story written by former CIA liason for the middle east, (excerpt of book he just wrote), it will curl your hair. If it's already curly, it'll straighten it.

Every American should read this, about our "friends", the Saudis.

Thanks Denis,
I already know the answer to my question. It seemed to me like a good beginning to a productive thought process for a lot of the participants here; to pose it to the open forum.

There are some very ugly realities in this world of ours. It is lovely to be able to enjoy our fine cars and our global friendships and all. By and large however, that is not the way of the world.
