I saw him on a talk show years after the Network Stars show and he explained how that the deal with him getting all pissed off was all staged. Just drama added to a show for effect.

That sounds like a lot of celebrities. One person I know has worked in radio for 40 years. He said they had book Ozzy Osborne on a morning radio show. He sid Ozzy was a very rational normal guy of air. As soon as air time approached, he became "Ozzy" and just put on a performance.

Brian Bosworth has his alter ego "the BOZ" that was just over the top. Brian is just not really like that, it was all just an act, like the professional wrestlers.

Conrad used to occasionally drink in my FIL's bar in Chicago. All the bartenders loved the guy as did the other patrons. Pretty much a "regular" guy other than being famous as an actor.

RIP but his main reputation was for being a world class prick who had a chip on his shoulder the size of Texas. He was famous for getting in fist fights and had possibly the worst "little man complex" since Napoleon. He was pretty tough for his size but he had to tell everyone in interviews what a tough guy he was, it was very strange. Very odd human being.

Robert Conrad being a small guy in Hollywood and compared to the leading men of his era (Wayne, Eastwood, ect) probably did have a complex, and for good reason. This was the 70's pre MMA, and everyone just assumed the little guy would always lose to the big guy. Well before the realities of even the first UFC.

Nah...there have always been hyper-violent little guys like him who could beat up on larger guys who were nicer people and not as violent. He had a tough guy/little man complex the likes of which the world has rarely seen. Even his obituary in the L.A. Times mentioned that he had been sued for assault multiple times. He was a nasty, violent drunk.

He also killed someone w his car, driving drunk, not too many years ago. It took the guy a few years to die but it was definitely as a result of his injuries.
