No doubt that is true. You need the degree to get the interview for your first job, your ability will move you forward.

No matter how the school is run, a student does have the ability to make of it what they want. Personally, I want to be in the OR so I've been shadowing in the OR. My son has been trying to spend summers taking "fun" classes abroad. None have counted for credit but he has experiences some only dream of.

My niece started as a Med Tech, got some experience then more schooling. Now she's an OR nurse and loves it.
