Weird, I wonder why there's no love for the half sheet Bounty towels. Those are what we use. We'd have been perfectly happy to walk down that aisle looking for paper towels.

A local grocery store worker told me that they are going to limit the amount of TP a person can buy until the shortage is over.
I then asked her how they would stop a person from re-entering the store to buy more.
Her answer was "We will use their cc/debit card to provide a record of sales.

I've never been carded for TP use...but it looks like it might happen.

Produce: pretty much wiped out. No bananas, tomatos, spinach, etc. Plenty of
cauliflower
Dairy: no milk, cheese very low, a few eggs,
Bread: really picked over but some available
canned: tuna, canned beans, soups and other canned meats really picked over if not
empty.
Paper: absolutely no TP or paper towels

similar here here..
self bake off bread gone
pasta gone
still plenty of dairy left

I don't get why poultry is hoarded but beef isn't?

Weird. We live <1/4 mile from a WF. Houston was completely normal, basically no panic buying until Thu night (local schools announced 2 week closure Thu night), then all hell broke loose. We were in Whole Foods Thu evening. It was low on stock, and out of any ground meat except 3# of ground veal and some breakfast sausage, but otherwise they had a little bit over everything. We were there yesterday (for just a couple of items) and they had at least a little bit of everything (more than Thu night). Today the missus got a yen for something that we didn't have in the house. I told her I'd go see if they had it. She thought of about half a dozen things to pick up. I was able to get everything. They did only have 3 bags of rice. I grabbed one and another guy grabbed one right before me, so when I left they only had one left.

Still, they are doing really well as far as not running completely out of things. I think it's because of where we are. I think we have an Amazon warehouse in Houston, and there are 10 WF in Houston (including one "Whole Foods 365"), so I suspect we've got a warehouse in the area ready to restock the 10 local stores.

Maybe you should go make a withdrawal from a Gun Shop

I read about that. He rented a U Haul and hit all the stores in small towns and emptied them out. Then sold them at high prices. He justified the high prices because he spent so much time and money on expenses buying them all up.

Multiply that by 1000 flipper "entrepreneurs" and you have artificial shortages.

I hope twats like that bought at slightly elevated prices assuming they could sell at extremely elevated prices, and they end up stuck with the crap until they have to unload it for pennies on the dollar.

But, if there's someone that's willing to pay a stupid price for something, then who am I to begrudge someone willing to sell it to them for a stupid price. The only time that will REALLY bother me is if it's something that people need and not just something that they want.

^^^ You can't buy one roll.
Unless you buy paper towels to do the job.

The media has just gotten sleazy. Though it did occur to me that this pic could be fake/misleading. But they are still sleazy.
