Kurt....
Yes......how about Burt Lancaster's performance in that one? Also starring Jack Palance, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan, Woody Strode, and Claudia Cardinale. Burt's character though really stood out. As it always does in his movies.....

"There was a Crooked Man" with Henry Fonda, Kirk Douglas, Hume Cronyn, and Warren Oates. A true cult classic.

"Unforgiven" would have to be one of the best ever.
My all time favourite although not actually a western is "The Last of The Mohicans". (1992) The newer "True Grit" is just brilliant but maybe it's too new to be called one of the best. It's not one of the greats but I really enjoyed "The Quick and The Dead" (1995)

Barbarosa ( 1982) Willie Nelson, Gary Busey
Hands down one of the best ever - a true sleeper. Filmed on location in Big Bend National Park. Stunning scenery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOmNwG0c8kc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXnkSW4sCVc |

There are so many to choose from.
I also really liked "The Missouri Breaks" (Marlon Brando - Jack Nicholson) The bath tub shooting scene was memorable... lol
