My Dell laptop is almost nine years old and works as good as new.
A couple years back, it started slowing down, so I installed Windows 10 and it gave it new life.

A Solid State drive and RAM upgrade usually make them work fine.

I’ve always purchased refurbished MacBooks from the Apple website. Never had a problem and they’ve lasted years with no hiccups.

I have discovered my touch screen keyboard. Still not ideal but a bit better than cutting and pasting the letters that have stopped functioning.
Computer has come very close to making a short flight with a hard landing....

No USB? Plug in a keyboard for the short term.

If you plug in a USB keyboard, and have internet access, I suspect laptop will recognize it.

My wife uses a keyboard with number pad. Easy-peasy.

Some video editing required? At 1500 CAD get the most RAM and the largest SSD. A Windows machine will almost always have better specs than a similarly priced Mac. If you want to pay for the looks then go with Mac.

I got my daughter a Dell XPS. They seem to be pretty good and are sometimes on sale at Costco.

Just wait till you figure out there's a button you can hit to talk to the computer and it does the typing! Man are you gonna be mad!
