Danner Boots.

Expensive and worth every flipping penny.

In addition to hard core combat boots and logging boots, they carry a "Lifestyle" line that would work for daily office wear ( khakis & button down environment).

Over the years I have had and still do have foot issues.

For work, I have a pair of Keen safety shoes - very comfortable.
I own N/B shoes with Superfeet insoles.
Dress and casual I have Allen Edmunds shoes. They are leather, comfortable and I only buy them when the are on sale.
For inside my home, I'm either barefoot (socks/no socks) or use my 15 yr old pair of deerskin moccasins that I bought in Ely, Mn. They are hand made. I love these things but unfortunately the bottoms are wearing out. I don't know of anyone who could repair them.

I seriously can't remember the last time I laced up a pair of shoes.

ALL my shoes are slip ons!

Bought one pair and liked them until the sole came loose. It actually partially disintegrated.

Maybe I stepped in something caustic - don't know.

I used them mostly when I was planting.

Are they studded?
We were young and helping stud motorcycle tires for the ice races when my cousin had the grand idea to stud his shoes. Fortunately, he did take them off first.

Get some Birkenstocks and an Outback and you have pigeon-holed yourself.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. e,g,. my sister.

Bob, you are probably getting irritation at the metatarsal heads. This is commonly secondary to tightness of the Achilles tendon. Dr Scholl's stuff is mostly crap.

No density? You mean flat feet? If that is the case, you will probably get relief from supports that would mitigate how much your feet flatten out.

Earth Shoes have a negative heel, which means the heel is lower than the rest of the foot. Those things would probably really make your feet hurt.

For my work boots, I wear these:

https://www.merrell.com/US/en/moab-2-8-inch-tactical-waterproof-boot/044211504810.html?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PLA&scid=scbplp044211504810&sc_intid=044211504810&msclkid=699ef44291e91a44eb45aaac86f55b76&gclid=CN71l8bHkOoCFeEmfwodkG8G6g&gclsrc=ds

I've a variety over the course of my career and these are by far the most comfortable.

Merrill Moabs for everyday kicking around. Love these and fit perfectly out of the box.
Old pair of Moabs for work shoes (lawn work, car wrenching, etc.)
Tevas as much as possible.
Peter Limmer (Intervale, NH) custom boots for hiking in the Whites...worth every cent!

I'm very particular about shoe fit...and until I'd discovered Merrills (which always seem to fit), I'd spend hours trying on shoes...surrounded by opened boxes and sales folks quietly seething.

So...what about a box at the shoe store - that you stick you feet into where they're measured by lasers, and this info gets uploaded to...wherever...maybe an in-house facility attached to the showroom - and custom shoes can be ready within a week...or even "while you wait!"

Somebody here please invent/market this and send me a kickback when the dough rolls in!

Hmm. Maybe I have to wear my orthotics more and not comfy shoes?

Or maybe both together. Too soft and squishy a shoe will not allow orthotics to work as well though.

+1 on anything Merrell.

That and make sure you are not fat. I have been to the foot doctor and 80% of the people in the waiting room were obese. My feet hurt too when I carry a 100 lb pack ...

She buys my shoes. Asic, Merrell, Sketchers, Adidas, LL Bean, Nike, Keen, etc..

I barely get a pair broken in before a new pair shows up. She brought home a pair of sketchers on Sunday, I haven't even tried them on. I've about blown out the Asics, so next in line would be the Merrells. I might wear the Sketchers a few times before next year.
