It's always interesting to me to see some of these tall people pics. I'm guessing most of the folks standing with him are maxing out at about 5 1/2' tall.

I've always found it interesting, that he would be injured, and the explanation that I remember reading was that the nerve impulses took longer to get to his brain so he wouldn't realize it as quickly as a normal sized person.

It's also interesting to see how differently some of these giants develop, some seem proportional, but tall, and some seem to have extra beefy bones and bone structure that seems a bit out of proportion.

He must have been one lonely guy. There was a similar man who used to tour around the East coast when I was a kid. He'd get paid to come to store openings or some such event and let people gawk at him. In hindsight it was a sad kind of one man freak show.
