1936 Peugeot 402 Eclipse

On base at Maxwell, AFB in Montgomery, AL they had a playground just like that. We would have 5 or 6 boys all bike home, and get each of our moms to give us a sheet of wax paper. Then we would all slide down on the waxed paper a few times, and wax the slide. With jeans on we could get going fast enough to "get air" on the hump and try to "fly" the furthest, and NOT fall down when you feet hit the ground at the bottom while going really fast. Lots of scraped knees and elbows and laughter.

The olive tree of Vouves, on Crete. This tree, which has a trunk 15 feet in diameter, is at least 2,000 years old, and likely 2,900 years older, based on the graveyard found nearby. This tree likely lived through the writing of the Iliad, the golden age of Athens, the rise & fall of the Roman Empire

Oswald's Grocery has marked these down. Great for grilling.
For some reason they just aren't Effing selling.

Tonight was my first ever attempt at catching the ISS in transit of the moon. I had tried last year with the Chinese space station and actually caught it but it was only a few pixels in size.
I had been waiting months for the right timing but the clouds kept stopping me. Tonight was the night!
With only a 0.56sec total transit time and half illuminated moon to work with, I was hoping for one, maybe 2 frames with the station visible. I ended up with 3! One on each extreme edge of light and one centered nicely. To say the least, I'm ecstatic that there is any detail at all!
Used a Canon 70D 8 frames/sec crop sensor
Canon 600mm L II with 1.4x extender for 840mm
Tripod and gimble. Remote shutter release
1/1000th
f 7.1
ISO 640

This is a funny one, one of my Masonic brothers and I stopped by a biker bar, in a rougher area of Jacksonville, deep on the Westside.
I start talking to the young bartender and she asked what difference bar I went to BITD, and when I mentioned the bar I use to go to that my friend John use to own (and I sometimes worked the door, bartender, DJed, what ever he was short on. It was named DOCKSIDE.
The cute young lady responded

you probably f**ked my Grandmother, she used to hang out there and was wild
(I probably did) Bob's eyes got huge after that comment and figured that I would just shut down,
Until she gave me her number and told me her schedule and wanted me to text her right then so she could have my number

I'm sure Glen knows this, but that pic's HEAVILY modified. I live prob 12 miles from there and have hiked/ran/camped out there many times.

Ain't never seen it like that. Not once.

My SIL made this beer for his wedding to my daughter. He and my daughter worked together to design the label. We had some before and after the wedding.

Such great fun.
