GUADALCANAL CAMPAIGN.
Civilization is becoming increasingly evident on this historical battleground. People in the USA would hardly expect to see a water storage tank, such as pictured here, on Guadalcanal. Further evidence is the stack of beer. January 24, 1944.

Vegan influencer Zhanna Samsonova has reportedly “died of starvation” after subsisting exclusively off a diet of exotic fruit in Malaysia, according to her friends and family. That will influence me to not try that diet.

Pathway of a 16-shell fired by USS Massachusetts BB-59 into an unknown ship undergoing salvage in Casablanca Harbor, January 1943. Note how each hole gets larger.
One caption had mentioned this was Battleship Jean Bart but that is not confirmed.

This is the oldest wooden staircase discovered to date in Europe, maybe even in the world.
This 3100-year-old wooden staircase was found at Hallstatt salt mine in northern Austria, it's 8 m long and 1.20 wide, and is representative of the construction typical of the Bronze Age.

Mont Saint-Michel Normandy - August 1944
Allied Forces first entered Mont Saint-Michel on August 1st, 1944.
During the German Occupation the St. Auburn church was used as a lookout post. The island was also a major tourist attraction during the Occupation with around 325,000 German Soldiers & Tourists visiting from July 1940 to July 1944.

He and another co-worker headed off to Colorado one year and got permits to hunt on a Ute reservation up in the mountains of the southern part of the state to chase mule deer. After negotiating what seemed like ancient wagon road full of rocks and washouts they made it to the top of a pass only to find a stock Volvo 240 station wagon. Better road on the other side of the pass.

My brother has a 1970s VW Westfallia he has had since 1980. He paid $500 for it. I will raise the camber up, and put on larger mud tires, and have snow chains to use if it gets really muddy. He parked at one hunting place and set up camp, and slept nice and cozy with the heater running, and made a breakfast ham steak. He opened the door to see another hunter in his group that drove in in old jacked up high 4x4 and he had slept in the back under plastic tarp. The guy came over and asked if he could come warm up in my brothers camper, so he was invited in.

They became good biddies and years later the guy admitted after arriving in camp he was happy he had the tough 4x4 and was crestfallen to see a VW camper already in place and someone warm and eating ham steaks for breakfast after he had only jerky and coffee.

The first photograph in history in which the Human appears in front of the camera
This photograph is the first image in which a person appears in front of the camera, and it is also the first image of the city of Paris. The camera used needed about 10 minutes to collect the light and the scene, and the street was full of people, but they were moving while photographing, so they did not appear in the picture except for one person who stopped for minutes To shine his shoes, history immortalized him, his and someone else was working shoe cleaner , and that was in the year 1839
