Just got an email from Nat Geo. Not a good thing if you're a seal.

The sizes are hilarious. Every size from extra small up to extra large is good for "up to 5'11". The only difference between the sizes is apparently, how much you weigh.

Yes, the wagon is awesome. I'd trade a toe for that!

Could be that the reinforced plastic pulley seized and friction from the moving belt generated enough heat to cause that. Probably squealed like hell, but they just kept driving anyway

Saw this in a local CVS pharmacy. The column was about 12" square, floor to ceiling. Did they really think that sign was necessary?

Did you know that the Osage County hamlet of Barnsdall is home to the world's only oil well located in the middle of a town's main street? Drilled to a depth of more than 1,500 feet, it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places - NPS and has been included in editions of Ripley's Believe It or Not!

Ah, I don't think I've ever seen a plastic pulley before.

I'm sure that sign is there either because someone ran into it or because someone ran into a sign and sued.

My BMW uses a plastic idler pulley in the serpentine drive belt system.

I gifted myself a Omega Speedmaster for Christmas and my recent 64th bday...

Its a Swatch/Omega

Swatch-Omega Earthphase

I also treated myself and my wonderful GF to a night in Manhattan....Michelin starred rest.. hotel with Times Square view..

This is a Marriot property... First whoever designed the keypad on this elevator should be fired, second, whoever accepted this elevator to be installed in the property should be fired.. The dissonance and bad design are just there for every guest to experience... And the elevator was made by Thysen/Krupp usually a go to supplier..

BTW my GF and I had a wonderful time..

Spent many nights in this little theater

The midnight showing were often Rocky Horror Picture Show (the freaks in the crowd were as funny as the movie) or The Gratefuld Dead Movie.
BYO ___ made the event all the more mind blowing.

Around 1910, a Native American family stands proudly in front of their home in Slabtown, a small community near the bay in Traverse City, Michigan. Homes in Slabtown were distinctly made of lumber slabs from the local mills. These humble homes, built from scraps of the milling process, spoke to the ingenuity and strength of the inhabitants, who had learned to survive with scarce means. Slabtown was a tight-knit community where many Native American families kept a close tie to the land and their culture.
The family in the photograph epitomizes the everyday life of Slabtown's residents. Their houses, though rough-hewn, were well constructed and offered the family the shelter it needed. Slabtown was one of the few places in the region where Native Americans could establish a semblance of autonomy and community. In the early 20th century, as Traverse City burst through industrialization, and the lumber industry, Slabtown stood a test on the region's behalf, reminding all of its people that it had an indigenous root and a complex history as their Native American residency.
Slabtown was not free from problems; economic hardship and their impacts upon displacement. Yet, however, the family life and traditions brewed well in the community. The homes made of lumber slabs were not only houses but monuments of strength and survival, pointing to the capacity of the Native American families to preserve their identity and culture within changing times. This historical photo, preserved by the Traverse Area District Library, captures a critical moment for the family and its community, opening a window into their strength and indomitable spirit.
