I thought a lot of the comments were very useful. I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

The only idiots reading BAT comments are other idiots who have no intention of buying a car. No real buyer gives a damn about the comments anymore. You think there are idiots making comments during a Gooding, Mecum, or Barrett-Jackson auction? The peanut gallery served its purpose to build the brand, but it jumped the shark 2 years ago. BAT has reached a totally different universe than when it started.

I like the BAT comment section, brings out more information on the car.
I've seen negative comments that exposed a fraud car too. On my BAT race car tribute auction the original race car owner left positive comments and offered free track driving lessons to the winner of the auction. It's an interesting and time consuming process submitting endless detailed photos and a couple videos of the car in action. Then agreeing on a story and the reserve with the BAT people that help you design your auction. After not meeting a fair reserve mine did not sell at Auction . But the high bidder contact information was shared, with in 2 days after the auction closed the high bidder bought it. Last edited by ted; 06-28-2020 at 08:50 AM.. |

The comment section is the best thing about BAT, apart from the huge audience. I would much rather buy a car off BAT as opposed to Barrett-Jackson/Mecum, etc. The sole purpose of the live auctions is to get you all liquored up to make a stupid decision amidst all the hype. I hope they don't get greedy and foul it all up.

Something tells me the BaT owner is going to have some nice additions to the garage here soon.

Would consider several F cars, a McLaren Senna, a Carrera G.T., a Ruf or a few others an upgrade,

BAT is fun! It pops up on my phone every morning and I enjoy breezing through it daily. Nice way to follow trends, keep up on values and look at some nice cars. Great premise and not surprised it got scooped up. I've bid on a few but the good cars always sell for more than they're worth. I've enjoyed watching some entertaining live auction battles in the final minutes. I did sell a car on BAT last year, an interesting and fun experience, it all went smoothly

Never been to the BAT site. As a youngin', I learned to avoid audio stores, gun shops, car dealers, and houses of ill repute (never been in one tho) ....
Then Al Gore invented the Internet and Wayne can just kiss my a$$ . I'm askeered to visit BAT .... it's just that simple

and if i did buy a car, i would be an absolute fool not to read every comment to see if someone that actually knew the car, or more about the specifics of car model/year posted a comment the british sports cars usually have very interesting comments. the old corvettes do too, on and on i’ll gladly admit, over the years i’ve learned a hell of a lot about cars i like by reading the comments on BAT

I wonder if the buyers brought over a trailer load of cash to the sellers.
OK, more likely a bank transfer, but they should have brought over a trailer.

The knowledge on that site is mind-blowing. Peter Egan commented on a Jag he had owned once, for fk sakes...Vic Skirmants sold his personal 356 and answered questions about it. And some clown here thinks that the comment and question section should be eliminated.

Hearst had to get with the times and get heavily into e-trading if they wanted to stay relevant. We have all seen what has happened to print media as a whole. RIP AutoWeek, and C&D and R&T are hanging by a thread. This move makes sense from both sides, as any small businessman would (or at least should) jump at the chance to be absorbed by the proverbial bigger fish.
I've gotten two cars from BaT and am on the site every day. I am hoping that what is working today will continue to work for Hearst, and that they'll listen to their public when making new decisions concerning the platform. We will see!

There is a gun store - range & restaurant a few miles from my house. Lots of cool guns to look at, and anyone over 21 can rent a fully automatic weapon from a Ma Deuce to 22 automatic, and burn through their ammo at a really fast rate for a healthy price. It is best to not go there and avoid temptation.

The first place I looked when my buddy asked me if I wanted to buy his 96 Land Cruiser was BAT. I searched on current and past FJ 80 auctions and started reading the comments and looking at the pictures, prices, etc. Then to ih8mud.
