The Bend Pak is made in China, but so are a lot of commercial airplane parts, as well as every Apple iPhone. It's a quality piece. The Chinese are as capable of quality as anyplace else. They just happen to also own the market for cheaply made stuff.

For my purposes, a single central scissoring apparatus (as opposed to doubles that may or may not need slab anchors) makes the most sense.

Again, all the replies are appreciated.

My Chinese made one's hydraulics get covered in salt, sand, paint solvents, fisholine oil, all sorts of stuff, and five years later are fine.

I'm guessing seals and stuff inside the hydraulics are generic enough to buy replacement bits if needed.

I have an older Snap On lift. It was was made by a company called Wheeltronics. You might see if they are still making a list, mine has been great.

If the lift is not certified, the only thing I would do is walk past it when it is lowered. I would not consider any lift that didn't meet that spec it's rated for. My opinion is the manufacturer can rate it at whatever they want to meet a certain market segment. There is a reason why it does not have the certification sticker.

You should go to U-tbe and see the videos where the non-certified lifts are put to the test...….

I installed a Chinese made two post lift recently and was impressed with all the safety devices that are integrated into it. Overall quality of the steel structural pieces, fasteners and arms with height adjusters are excellent as well.

I have the same lift, makes the others look like toys. You can pick them up on Craigslist for a decent price. Think I paid $900. You can drop an engine without removing the cross support.

I made the mistake of selling my snap-on when I set up a 2 post. Now i'm moving, no ceiling height..... wish I kept it.

That’s about what I paid for mine. It’s a damn tank! Getting it in the moving truck when I came to AZ was an experience

I had one as well. Nice lift.
I paid a tilt deck tow truck guy $50 bucks to move my lift in town.
Had a little runaway putting into my garage, but no damage to the lift or the contents of the garage!

I had the snap on scissor lift as well. Built like a tank is great description. They show up on CL from time to time. Only sold mine to move to a four post. Did not have the space for both.

What category do they usually put lifts in?

I put mine in "tools" but if you search for "lift" and pick titles only, that works too. You have to sift through the stuff you do not want but it usually does not take long.
