Some sort of system would be required to ensure that they didn't accidentally make something up that matched something existing.

Also seems she has heard that the U.S. move to shut it down is political and not a technical argument related to spyware. So somehow the users have been getting 'information' to help respond to criticism of the app.

this could get ugly
I don't know you, but all I can say is, if your 14 daughter won't heed your concerns or cautions, and demanding she delete it will cause a "big event", you're already screwed bro.

And that has 100% nothing to do with the app.

Lemme guess, Mom sides with her or is impartial. Heck, prob uses same app. Y'know, to "see what all the fuss is..."

One of the first thing I noticed about TikTok videos... There's always "max volume" upbeat music in the video.

I was taking a break from the forum when this was an active thread.

Tik Tok is like an adaptive mind altering drug.
It learns what buttons yah got.
Gets the mind to cook up chemicals in the body.
Not everyone has the same buttons; this tech gets around that.

It is way more than that, it is the adaptive AI personalizing that is the real "Do not want".

What I left off last night is that any place that is algorithm fed can work in what Tik Tok is made to do.
If you've ever noticed people online are more polarized today; there is a reason.
Algorithm fed feeds get us moving farther and faster, but we have resistances to different directions.
They will find the low resistances, and we end up "sent".

Twitter, Youtube, and many more.

^^yup. More people need to wake up to this fact. These sites are FAR more damaging to the human psyche than we think. Everyone says, “oh it’s just a fun website”, etc…it is more akin to mind control. The more you learn about it the scarier it is. AI may very well be the end of us!
