Modern English was my first concert, lower Greenville Ave in Dallas, TX.

Followed next weekend in a dive bar off Greenville, The Call, a mostly forgotten band who had several hits. Peter Gabriel liked them so much he asked them to open for him.

But I missed a big one when I turned down going to the Bronco Bowl (dumpy small venue) to see some Irish lads in 83. U2 of course!

Lower Greenville in the early 80's was great. Stumbled into a bar one evening and SRV and dbl trouble were playing to a crowd of 35 people..comfortable bar stool and a cold beer..hard to beat.

Saw the SRV reference and just had to.

Top 200 albums of the 80s. Some I recognize but there is allot I don't. Up until about 10 years ago most of the music played at sporting events - basketball, football and hockey featured 80s music. Admiditally, I'm not an music fan of the 80s but those who are, pefer music of the 80s rather than the 90s. A few have told me the music of the 80s was more upbeat and happier that the 90s.

I have a 31 yr old son who loves 90s music - it is what he grew up with. One tends to like the music they grew up with.

Modern Talking - so, so cheesy. One of my best friends grew up in Poland in the '80s and they were popular there.
