I'm extremely cheap, but I do not skimp on wheel bearings. I've done it on the past and they DO NOT LAST.

It's not a safety hting, it's a laziness thing. They are a paint to change, but a good brand name (like SKF orTimken) or go the dealer.

We put Timken in the truck 100k miles ago. Still felt and sounded good when I replaced the rotors a few months ago. Ball joints and bushings need replaced though now. Actually, the bushings are past due.

Looks like I am getting the above. The Timkin I found are separate and the bearing still has to be pressed in.

Rock auto has DuraGo for about 15 bucks cheaper but I think Moog has always been pretty good with their quality?
That part is the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly. Your original post stated front bearings.

See Sammy's post where he showed a pic of two bearings for sale. That's what they look like. They are not hub assemblies.

Here's the part you are looking at on Amazon.

It’s confusing with that Pelican ID he uses.

I ordered from that place Dennis sent me. Will pick up tomorrow. None stock. They don't make one with the bearing already pressed in. Life goes on, just glad its gettin' done

That's a great place to know. What brand did they offer to sell you? More than one? Who helped you? I should have told you to ask for Raffi and tell him I sent you.

That is a brick and mortar, family owned and operated business since 1978. Bosch official outlet, etc...

I didn't get his name, Dennis. I asked him a couple of questions about the place but his voice was a big shaky and told me he only started working there for one week. I am told the parts will be shipped in from the other stores, so i ask him about me driving out to get them. His respond was no, he doesn't know where they are. I guess he's new enough not knowing much. Thanks for the sending me to this place. Love it that's mom and pop owned

They do. Moog LK060/61

You don't need those anyways unless doing the job yourself and you want to make life easy.

+1

I'm doing a 2008 Ford Escape today with the same type of bearings.

I chose to use the bearing extractor tool with the knuckle in place rather than pulling the knuckle and using my press.

It's been extremely hard work. The core issue was the bearing would not budge with the 1/2" air impact. So using a 3/4" drive breaker bar and 4 foot floor jack handle as a cheater it would turn. Nothing unusual. A few minor pops as it came loose and it exited smoothly but it took forever one quarter turn at a time. I mean, like an hour for this old man with a rest or two. The last third the impact helped but it turned so slowly.

Bearing in the freezer made install a non event.

I think I need a very big-boy impact gun (like 3/4 inch drive) but I'm not sure if that would have helped given the torque required.

Oh, sorry guys.

Dropped it off Saturday, by noon monday, he called to pick it up. I brought the Tomkin bearings and Doorman hubs (a little over 100 bucks together per side). Easy pleasy. They think it should last 50-80k miles with ease. It was cheap compared to Dealer's bearing. Wife's happy, so am I.

You do this for a living, Bob?

I hate removing frozing bolts and nuts. It just seem to be the one bolt on every auto repair job that always seem to haunt me, always.

I'm retired but rent a man cave with a lift. Friends and family sort of stuff and rent my space from two guys that have the storage wars thing going on. Their space is connected to mine. I fiddle with their stuff, too. One day a toaster the next day ball joints. It's a hobby.

Glad you got yours rolling.
