I equate "begging" with "aggressive panhandling" and did not consider simply putting out a cup or tip jar ("passive panhandling") as begging. If my meaning or use of words was not clear, then I retract.

That said, in reality, I was joking about panhandling myself (as I would neither have the time or need)...I just wanted to point out that it was a typical activity for the homeless. For me, without housing expense, money would never be an issue...as it is not even with housing costs.

As a teenager I detassled corn, walked beans, baled hay, ran a bush hog and did every other miserable farm job known.

Most of started our teen working lives doing backbreaking manual labor. We ain't teens any more and claiming you could or would at this point in life is silly.

It might seem - to the ill-informed and possibly demented - that some poor fool would think one has to be Mexican to do manual labor in Ohio. But there is quite a bit of manual labor taking place in Western Ohio during harvest season and a considerable number of the worker's seem to be of black, white and brown coloration.

I made no mistake. You both posted the same photo...for the same reason. You and your buddies chose to take the cheap shots and once again decided to make an interesting discussion into a personal shot at other posters. He just followed up with another asinine comment after reposting the same photo you did...so he got responded to. The point of the photo you both posted was not lost on me or Varmit. If you don't realize how offensive it was, you are in even worse that I realized. Your point was as clear as his.

Hispanics are not the only ones who can do this type of work and whites are not too good to do it. Someone has to feed the nation and it doesn't have to be through virtual slave labor. Lots of folks that come here to post not only have done a lot of manual labor, but continue to do so...and would not hesitate to do so again if needed (before panhandling, theft or charity). Where I live, white people largely do this work, while California is the largest welfare state and must import illegals to do this work out of sheer laziness.

And yes, I can do that type work all day...and do so when necessary. I not only see no shame in it, I consider it to be a blessing to be able to do so. Working the land is a manly pursuit, not a punishment or something to be ashamed of. One of many jobs that real men are out doing to feed those currently hiding in their basements. It would benefit those that make fun of it to do a little themselves.
