I've been to California a few times as a visitor and once when in the military. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon! Too much of a "nanny" state for my tastes. And, of course, now the formerly cool places like San Fran have gone down the tubes to the homeless and the anarchists. No, when they finish building "The Wall" thru Texas, they need to go back to the other end and build one all the way up to Canada. California, Oregon and Washington can just be their own little country without infecting the rest of the U.S.!

Totally inappropriate post. Does not address the topic and throws PARF wildly into the string. Thanks, dude.

Awesome. Kind of a manly self quarantine thing. I'm sure they'll barely survive without you.

Isn't the initial Boom XB1 being built in Denver? I know they are headquartered in Denver.. Maybe development in Cali?

A little reading tells that they are in John Denver’s old hangar at the Centennial Airport in Colorado just outside Denver, the city. I don't see any reference to CA.

But it was said that the Boom CEO did come to CA to talk planes out at Edwards AFB. The statement about getting to work on cool stuff in a skunk works in CA is fact.

Boom is indeed based in Denver. He might be thinking Otto?

Hopefully, at least some will survive, the really strong ones anyway! See, by staying at home, it makes them happy and me happy, a win/win!

Why do people stay in California?

Because they can have waterfront park-like property for the cost of a used tent.

Man, that is sad. What’s the solution? This would be below rock bottom for anyone of us but this is just life to the people living there. So what can we do to help this situation? The fact is that these people won’t help themselves. That sucks but it’s the truth. Making it illegal to be homeless and enforcing it would cost way too much money. Moving them out and sending them to the next town or county is just kicking the can down the road. So I ask, what do we do?

Santa Ana River trail. Note the "Big A" in the background.

Those encampments have been cleaned up, thankfully. 700 people were living there.

It would have to be discussed in PARF.

Very hard decisions have to be made, and no political party will ever make those descisions. Money alone is NOT the answer.

The nice weather for one thing, can't change that. You can live in your tent year 'round and not have to worry about freezing in the winter.

If I was homeless and just didn't give a FF anymore I'd head to Cali too, there's too many free amenities and services to pass up.
