My old doberman was a total sweetheart and loved everyone, except any mailman. An intruder that came on the front porch 6 days a week and left something behind was a threat to her. I let the neighborhood kids come play in the back yard with her and a tennis ball. I had zero worries about a her biting anyone. The postman was sure afraid of her.

One of my former co-workers had a roommate that was a postal carrier. They had a Husky that also hated the postman. When her roommate would put on the postal uniform and go out to the truck their own dag went into a barking frenzy at the postman in the yard.
I'm sure it was 45 years ago when I was a house painting contractor that I heard a ruckus out in front of the house I was working on. I ran out and saw the mailman on the ground, letters scattered everywhere, and a German Shepard chewing this guy's body. He was on his back holding his large mailbag over his stomach. I grabbed an extension pole and truly set out to kill the dog.

It saw me coming full steam yelling like crazy and ran. Turns out the dog had jumped his yard's fence. Turns out the dog had done this before. The MM was taken to the hospital with wounds to arms, legs and stomach.

The post office investigators showed up as well as animal control. The dog was taken and I heard euthanized because of previous and dangerous behavior. No idea on how the owners were treated AFA responsibility, financially or otherwise.

I very much dislike most dogs. Calling someone a "dog" is really offensive as you don't get much lower in life than a dog. I've had a couple dogs in my household over my life and I definitely kept them in their place. They never got up on any furniture or bed. I won't have that filth and smell in my house. Sometimes they got a ride in the car, but I really didn't need my seats scratched so it was always on a blanket.

But the biggest reason for my disdain of dogs is how others mange them. As a home improvement contractor I had to go into literally 100's of yards where there were anywhere from a couple dog piles to dozens. First thing I did was pick up all that siht before setting out one tool. If it was the neighbor's dog barking constantly I went to the truck and got a router or some kind of noisy tool, set the switch to locked on, put it right next to the fence and turned it on. I'd let it run for half an hour if that was what it took to shut the MF'r up. More than once I have used my customer's garden hose on the offending dog.

These days I have a 130 dB transducer capable of 19,000 to 25,000 Hz. Actually I have 2, one is in a briefcase with a 12v battery and is controlled remotely. The other is mounted inside a huge megaphone and can quiet a dog 300 feet away.

Nobody would eat a poodle!

Anybody that is truly hungry would. I am very lucky as an American and I have never been truly hungry. Missing a meal or two is nothing like a few days of not eating.

But yea, I get your point.
