Congrats. Have fun.

Great, heartwarming news!

Have a blast.

Our Lab Nalu still jumps up. It’s a Lab thing. He used to haul ass and use me as a backstop.

An easy knee to the chest can get them to stop. But they will still do the slow rise and rest their paws on your chest, Labs just want to show their love.

Luke!

Awesome.

Congrats! We bit the puppy bullet after looking at rescues for nearly 3 months. So, went for an English Springer Spaniel pup from a local couple rather than a breeder. Had him for 8 weeks now and he's a great dog, but puppies are SO much work. I'd forgotten how much from many in the past, but he's a blank canvas and up to us to train. Both his parents hunted, so we'll see how he does when he's like 8 months old. Handsome young dude, and a real chick magnet.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1607221448.jpg

Update: Benjamin is now close to 10 months old and doing great, and we've survived almost all of the puppy rearing drama. Next is field evaluations for bird hunting, postponed due to the COVID-19 stuff. If he does, he does, if not he's a great dog regardless.

Cute springer pup we had a liver and white in the past she was a good dog . Luke made it through the night just fine . He wimpered in his cage for 5 minutes and then slept the entire night . Woke up this morning and his high energy switch is back to on 😁 . Last night was a nice surprise we are quite happy .

Luke is a handsome boy ! Congratulations !!!

Congrats on the new pup! If anyone in the greater Seattle area is looking for a dog my daughter is fostering Vega, the one on the left in this photo. She came from Texas as did Momo who is one my daughter adopted a couple of years back. Vega is a great dog and probably my daughter's favorite foster at this point. She's been doing this for a few years.

What a great looking dog!
Springers have so much personality in their looks and behavior.

I also nominate your pic for 'pup pic of the year'

He is still a puppy ! GSD is minimum 3 years of puppyhood. Plus he is happy and excited about his new home ! He will settle down, especially with some training. He is really a very cute guy.

Congrats on the new pup! He is a good looking guy. Nice springer too! Always liked those.

Just saw a friend of mine and she had been trying to adopt a rescue unsuccessfully since her old pup died from cancer a few months back. Today, she had a shiny new 8 week old border collie girl, Allie.

Allie is a sweetie and even my cranky old bc girl liked her!

Thanks for the kind words for Luke , we think he's a cutie also . Our next door neighbor came over today to visit . Thank God she is a dog person because Luke was all over her . He was just so excited to see another new person .

But tomorrow I go pick up my MIL who is 88 years old and her dog that is just as old 😁 . But I am struggling on how we do the introduction without anyone getting hurt ☹️ . Her and her dog will be staying with us for about a month , I just hope all goes well .

do it outside ..
if you have a fenced area even better..
smell and run...
it will be fine..

No worries about the dawgs .... let 'em meet & sniff and avoid the wagging tails ;)

walk both dogs immediately. no fanfare, no welcomes, just start walking next to each other. stay apart until they calm down and move closer as they get bored. separate again if they get riled up. keep grandma at home and get someone else to take her dog leash.

I am happy to report the dog/grandma meet and greet with Luke went well . Yeah he was excited x 1000 but no blood was shed 😁 . Some barking and sniffing that was about it . Glad that phase is over .

Rikao4 12-07-2020 02:41 PM

Vash is on the $$..
walking them together...
is the key..
watch the feeding....
as they have rules amongst themselves..
