Dear beat.

We charge like z$0.60 to send something. You get what you pay for. You want guaranteed delivery? Pay UPS. Why do we have to tell you this?

Was that supposed to be in green?
Dec. 4 I place an order. Item has to be made to my specs.
Dec. 11 it's shipped. ETA Dec. 15
Dec. 15 It's at UPS Windsor Ct. 10 miles from my home.
Dec. 15 All tracking stops.
Dec. 28 Still nothing. I call sender and they agree, by now it's lost, will send out another
Dec. 29 I receive the original item.
Dec. 30 UPS still shows item is in Windsor with no updates.

Yes, you do get what you pay for. But most of customer service and business success is properly setting expectations and then meeting or exceeding those expectations consistently.

On the rare occasions I go to McDonald's these days I do not expect fantastic food or venue. BUT, I know what I'm getting, and I get it basically the same way every time no matter where I am in the world. I'm cool with that.

It's been a tough year, no doubt, and the post office has been asked to do a lot. Just trying to vent a little, hopefully in a mostly lighthearted manner.

Although I'm still not sure how a first class letter can take longer than 2 weeks (and counting) to go from my mom's to my sister's house about 10 miles away....

Just got a package 2 weeks late.
Still beats driving across the country and getting it myself.

People are so entitled and spoiled.

3 weeks to get a Porsche part from Oregon.

Package of 4 music CDs has been traversing CT for 2 weeks now, and has finally made it to NJ. Expected to fly south to GA sometime in the next month.

I only shipped out one package, of any size, using USPS this holiday season.
It was a micro-wave sized box that had to go from W. MI to the very western end of NC
I figured I needed to allow at least a week, but when I brought it in for delivery, I was told it would arrive in three days....which it did.

That's the thing, though right -- you never know what's going to happen with delivery service right now.

I shipped a couple of core 914 brake calipers to Utah the week before Christmas via USPS. After I mailed the box I was kicking myself for not insuring it, but the calipers made it safely and one day earlier than expected. It's a crap shoot. I don't care if the aunt's fruitcake gets here (ever), but I kind of need that expensive part I ordered for my car to get it through inspection.

Other than Bill's experience shipping down south which is understandable, the main defense of their current service here seems to be "what did you expect for the price?" (Um, I guess the package to arrive) and "it's better than driving there yourself" (Ok, I didn't realize that was the standard by which we measure service).

I'm confident I'll eventually receive those things currently in limbo, and I'm confident that after the holidays (and COVID) the USPS will return to a better level of service, albeit probably still inconsistent.

Been waiting on an important, very overdue delivery. I see a mail truck pull up in front of my house, then pull away this morning. About an hour later I get an email about my order, saying there was an issue with my package delivery. I go on USPS tracking, it says tjete was no driveway/ front door access. My driveway/ front door are wide open. Have everything on my security cameras.

Have a feeling the driver just didnt feel like getting out in the rain.
I'm one of them last to bash the postal service. You pay a very cheap price the send stuff across the country, but its been unacceptable lately.

We received a time sensitive letter on December 31, 2020 (pre-sorted first class), with a due date of 1/2/2021. The date stamp on the postage mark was 12/2/2020...29 days to go from Iowa to Maryland; incredible.
