How long do you plan on keeping it? If it's past the warranty period, I'd go Toyota.... opinion of a Ford owner. Every generation of F150 for the past 20 years has had some type of cripplingly expensive issue...spend some time in some F150 forums for the entertainment.

But do you use your 4wd?.. deep sand, mud or steep? Fire road or mall parking lots don't count.

Lot's of Raptor owners have been disappointed in the real off road world... I drove 2 Tremors with grinding issues because of vacuum leaks just going on a test drive... not very impressive.

You guys are funny, you think it’s a pavement princess. It works on the job site, pulls stuck equipment out, goes to the desert with an enclosed trailer, goes through the sand, etc. how many Toyota’s do if that’s your question.? As far as keeping it, I am at nine years and 210k as I said before. What’s the cropping issue with my truck? Haven’t noticed it yet

Some of you guys have been watching WAY too many truck commercials. Today I’m going to put on my flannel and haul 2,000 lbs of rock up the side of this mountain! Lol. Or just talking out of your collective arses without any personal experience. The Tundra is an excellent truck and a fine choice. But the F150 is as well, and most of you appear to be either regurgitating crap you’ve read online or based on negative experience with your 1985 Fiesta.

I’ve owned two recent F150s, one with the 5.0 and one with the Ecoboost. The EB is far superior when towing, otherwise I’d go with the 5.0. Comparing between the trucks I actually got better MPG with the 5.0 and it sounds better. Both were owned for an extended period of time out of warranty without any major issue. The only problem of note was a burned out cooling fan on my EB at about 80k that became an issue when towing on a 100+ day through hilly terrain. I also had an exhaust manifold bolt break on the EB just prior to sale which created a slight tick, because the truck was already sold I paid about $900 to just have it fixed at a shop. Neither left me stranded, and both held their value very well. They also held up well from an assembly standpoint, I sold both with just under 100k and they were still nice and tight, with minimal wear inside. My current truck is a 2008 F250 with about 85k, over the 20k I’ve owned it my only required repair was two coolant hoses that were seeping. That’s it. So feel free to buy a Toyota, but don’t do it based upon biased or incorrect information.

I have been looking at trucks lately also. The Tundra only has a 5.5 bed with the big 4 door cab.

They are all great, so much better than anything I ever drove before 2000. I bought my Tundra on price and the local dealers willingness to sell me what I wanted.

I love my 1996 Land Cruiser but it is nearly a relic of yesterday, which is great and frustrating simultaneously.

OWP i've been fishing, hunting, crabbing and boat towing with Toyota trucks for near 20 years now. I don't get my opinion from truck commercials. at 80k miles my tundra drove, handled and felt exactly like a brand new truck.

You've gone down this road of 'you guys are idiots and don't know as much as me about trucks' before and honestly i'm wondering if you really do use your truck for truck stuff or just as a suburban tow rig for sunny day jaunts to the lake.

You see the difference between us is that I acknowledge that Toyota makes great trucks too. I don’t fall prey into the “I own something so it’s the best ever” trap. Congratulations on owning Toyota’s forever, I bought my first F150 in about 2000 and have also owned a 4Runner and Land Cruiser during the same timeframe. Again, they both make great trucks. I’m just saying to compare them and make the decision yourself.

As for the “I use my truck as a truck” penis inflator, c’mon man. My first F150 was a construction work truck back when I was a blue collar guy. My last few trucks have spent plenty of time off the beaten path in addition to hauling all sorts of building materials and course a boat every weekend in the summer. Last year about 8 trips of 500 miles round trip. I wouldn’t own a truck if I didn’t need one, I’d much rather have a Jeep.

you said some of us are parroting tv commercials and i'm calling you out on it. You are talking from the same orifice you claim some of us are.

anyone interested in ford quality can go read the forums. first page in forum for 15-20 f150 includes threads on transmission problems (almost 1/3 of 39 respondents have shifting problems, some have been in shop more than once), extended warranty options, a 2018 lemon law issue, powertrain malfunction warning, clunk when shifting, etc etc etc. now go read the tundra forums and you get 'what tires fit'.

I bought a new Tundra today ...

It's not loaded but has enough toys and gadgets for me.

I will be adding running boards and a bed cover or cap soon.

I don’t know what you other guys are on about with respect to the truck commercials, we don’t have cable and I don’t watch TV.

My Tundra replaced my 1 ton, it wasn’t meant to happen that way, it just did due to necessity.
