20+ years with tinnitus, gun shot by A-hole from back seat of Jeep. He said he wasn't going to shoot, then bam! as I uncovered my ears. I had covid, 8-9 days of hell. No shot yet. I didn't notice it this morning until I saw this thread, now I'm ringing. I guess I have a unique ability to tune it out, probably similar to my father tuning out his 5 boys when we were going crazy.

I've had it for years. Seems to have increased in intensity since the pandemic began. Going to ENT soon anyway, just to see if I can get any relief.

My tinnitus is a nearly perfect 440 Hz so I can tune my cello with no other aid.

As far as I can tell, mine is up at the high end of the spectrum, somewhere in the range of 10500 - 12000. I consider myself lucky.

This is me as well. It doesn't bother me too much until bed time. Then I need radio, TV, something to cover up the noise.

Me too. It's mild but really bothersome when it's very quiet. Mine comes from playing the guitar too loudly without wearing ear protection. My brother tried warning me about 20 years ago when we were still very young. I have some now made by Earasers and they help some but the last two times I jammed with a band it was not as enjoyable.

Counterclockwise?

I thought it was just me. Very mild, but it sounds like a diesel idling outside a few doors down.
The first time I noticed it I asked my wife why a truck would be idling when I'm trying to sleep. She's like "uh?" I've never mentioned it to her again.

Until reading some of the responses in this thread and perusing a few websites with audio, I had no idea that it could be low frequency (although if I'd thought about it, I'd have realized that any or multiple frequencies were possibilities), and anything other than constant. Mine is a pretty consistent high pitch whistle. Any variation is, I think, me/my brain tuning it out. I have no rhythmic pulsing or thumping.

Interesting, mine seem to enhance it. My assumption is it's because there's less background noise when I wear them.

What?!?!

I have it as well.
But tell me this, and read closely. In a quiet room and your tinnitus is present...can you make it change pitch? If I clench my teeth, the pitch changes until I relax.

Ha! That's a given!
I used a fan for a long time, but found binaural beats and a few other sounds instead. Works better for me. I had to play with the volume a bit, but I sleep great with something like this on...

No. No change pre or post vaccination. Mine is intermittent and sometimes Montelucast (allergy drug) helps.

Ive had it for about 30 years. Mine is a high pitch ringing sound. An I can change the pitch by moving my jaw left to right. My volume that I hear is equivalent to about 90 decibels. I also hear 3 or 4 different levels of sound at one time. However I do hear my heartbeat all the time. I actually helped me to diagnose my irregular heart beat to inform the cardiologist. Have to have fan noise to sleep. Most of the time I can ignore it, but typing this damn response, thinking about it, its driving me nuts even after 30 years.

I've had tinnitus in my right ear (I'm about 80% deaf in that ear) for some 25+ years. Interesting wrt vaccination...I received my first AstraZeneca shot about two weeks ago and about a week later I noticed that my tinnitus was gone! The cicadas had finally gone into hibernation...REJOICE!!
It has, however, returned as of yesterday but I want to say to slightly lower "level"?

Tinnitus vaccine? Cool.
I don't remember a time that my ears didn't ring. Sucks.
