A creepy genius? Does that describe our Tabby? I dunno. But yeah, when I read that post...decided to leave it alone, because I wondered.....

Hey, sounds like you may be having too much fun with that pen to give it to your daughter...might as well hang on to it. Tip: Have light green checks printed...use brown ink. Quite distinctive.

I’ve used fountain pens for a long time. My current favorite is this Pelikan M805 Blue Dunes. For the money though - the Lamy 2000 and Pilot E95s are great pens.

I like being able to pick my own inks and the writing experience is more fun.

NOT!

Please, please, PLEASE stick with printing. That's so much better than any of the other stuff that you'd produced previously.

Good lord! When I'm out writing setup adjustments and car stuff, my crumpled shards of paper are covered in bic pen, grease, and smudged motor oil. If I lay them in the sun, they spontaneously combust.

I have a little foldout table i stick near my workspace. Stuff still gets dirty but less dirty than when the stuff is sitting with me under the car.

That Pelikan is pretty! (must resist - must resist - must resist looking for this online - that's gonna be an expensive websearch!)

Pilot's nicer pens are amazing too - I'm so bummed that my 823's nib can't be repaired, or replaced. It was the sweetest writing tool and it held a gallon(ish) of ink. Even more than a big Pelikan.

Over nearly 25 years in an electronics-limited workplace I've taken more than a few reams of notes. As have my colleagues. Lots of FPs around Los Alamos. I've gotten a few hooked on them, one DINK in particular would come to the bar every time we'd be in DC and she'd say "Look at what fell into my purse at Farhneys...", whipping out some nearly kilobuck piece of art.

I picked up the habit about 15 years ago and had to go relearn cursive. The first few attempts would would have earned a "check-minus" for a third grader... Now most anyone (over 30) can read my script. The young-uns think it's some weird code I guess.

Here are the fountain pens I could locate without getting up from my desk, the disposable at the bottom ("Varsity" by Pilot) is one I buy by the box and stock all over the place... about $2 a pop when buying from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SLC16KM). Pardon my egregiously bad handwriting:

I did not know that they made a $2 disposable fountain pen. Very interesting...

The disposables are very good pens. I use them all the time. Post #29 is good value.

Some of my favorite pens.

The nicest writing one is the Rotring fountain pen. Probably best "feel" is the Porsche Design fountain pen. The ones I used the most would be the click Porsche Design rollerball. The Rotring Rollerball gets the nod if I have a lot of writing to bang out fast - too fast to use a fountain pen.
