Reenus Vekay has already hit the wall hard in testing . It must be a butt clincher hitting the wall at those speeds !

Indy is borderline of being too far "big corporate" for me.

Haven't seen/listened to it for decades. I used to listen to it on the radion as a kid. Every time they went through a curve, I'd clinch the teeth on one side. After the race, my jaw would hurt.

It's just about pointless to leave a little roof open. Might as well follow what race boats have been doing for decades.

Bourdais in a Foyt car is the best thing to happen to AJ in years.

Bourdais gives AJ a winner. Sato a few years back was a crash waiting to happen. I think one time he crashed in an Indy race and took out Danica Patrick who was driving in a NASCAR race.

Takuma Sato (佐藤 琢磨, Satō Takuma, born 28 January 1977), nicknamed "Taku", is a Japanese professional racing driver. Sato is a two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, having won the event in 2017 and 2020. He was the first Asian driver to win the Indy 500,[1] and the twentieth driver to have multiple Indy 500 wins. He also became the first Japanese driver to win an IndyCar race when he won the 2013 Grand Prix of Long Beach.

A.J. has a certain passion for the sport. Not many guys still in attendance that drove one of them roadsters for real. Penske's another guy that's the real thing. He can't save the series, but he might save the speedway. Shame, both those guys are in their mid-80's. After them....who?

F1 today is far worse than Indy.
A PARF thread I did on F1 some time back.

In what sense?

Top level racing needs big corporate bucks to survive.

Many, many decades ago this was my 1st and only Indycar project,

1990 March Alfa Romeo 90C
Driven by Al Unser Snr, finished 13th and Roberto Guerrero, retired

May go full circle this year and do some more Indycar work again

I'm going to be hated for this but I really hope Honda dominate the field again

I lived in Speedway, IN from 1973 to 1977. I even met/knew some drivers of that era (it was a different world back then). I have also been fortunate enough to race* at Indy twice. I love that place.

Edit: * not in an Indy car.

The up and coming generation from high profile colleges have been taught a set of dogma.
They are expected to use their corporate positions to implement that dogma.
To an independent liberal mind like me, it is a cancer.
I'm not sure Indy is full in or not, hadn't been paying attention.
NASCAR and F1 are gone.

I've been enjoying lower level racing a lot the past few years.
Racing at a level that isn't on TV can have a much wider array of people involved.
It is a lot more fun to watch.

For the guys who have found reasons not to watch it, I feel you're missing out. The cars still have to get around those corners at 225 +, I find that fairly f'**in fascinating.

Although, that Nascar race at Bristol on "DIRT" pretty well finished it for me ever watching that again. Almost as bad as Ecclestone's
sprinkler for F1

I always rooted for Guerrero in those days, I wanted him to win so bad, I remember one race that he was leading late and seem to have in the bag, but his luck ran-out can't recall what happened but he didn't win. Disappointed for sure.

In October of 1994 we went to Laguna Seca for Mario's last race in Indycar's. At the hotel we stayed at in Pacific Grove I spotted Roberto loitering in the parking lot. At that time he was working as a tour guide for Grand Prix tours. I was both sad and happy at the same time. He had more bad racing luck than he deserved. DP
