It is what it is, and I yam what I yam. Can't remember ever really thinking about it.

My parents came up with my name while watching Peter Gunn starring Craig Stevens. It wasn't a popular name at the time and not very popular while growing up.
When on vacation at a gift shop they always had the little license plates for bikes with the names or other trinkets. It was no problem for my brothers Tom and Scott but flipping through the "C's" I'd get to "Connor" and then it would go straight to "Curtis". So I'd settle for some fake dog poop or vomit and call it a day.

William, William. It's either the police or it's my mother, and my mother has been dead for the last 20 years. So if I hear the name William it means I'm in trouble.
Bill however is a friendlier, softer maybe, name than William. and I'm OK with it. It's a family name that goes back hundreds of years. I wouldn't have chosen it. |

Happily I have never given it a second thought.
My name evokes zero emotion, the afternoon nap of names.

I'm cool with my name. Just hated people spelling it with and "i". Something must have changed in 50+ years as it seems most people spell it with a "y" nowdays.

Hahah, thanks for the chuckle, sir. I hope to one day find myself in your neck of the woods. I'd love to meet you and have a beer or something.

ich heiße Stephen. I like it.
I think, IIRC, my first name is greek for "crown" and my middle name is a latin verb that means "to conquer." My parents did not plan that and had no idea.

I never really thought about it. Named after a football player
I am quite confident I am the only person on the planet with my first and last name, so there is that.

Never cared for it. I could do a small monologue on while it sucks.
