Not dumb, ignorant. There is a difference.
Dumb usually can't be fixed/cured. Ignorance can be. All it takes is a little education. In this case, maybe a PC too, instead of a Mac.

I've got an iPhone XS, and if i take pics with that at full size, some are too big to upload. I'd have to resize them to something smaller. Pelican resizes down to 800 pixels wide, but will only do that for files smaller than 3mb or 4mb or something like that (I think the box says <2MB, but I think you can actually go bigger). If you open the image in "Preview" on your Mac, at the top under Tools, you should see an "adjust size" option. If you choose that, it will tell you the current resolution and allow you to change it to something smaller (may as well make the width 800), but then don't "save" if you want to keep the original large file. Then go to "File" and "Export." If I had an original file called IMG-001234.JPG, I usually change it to something like IMG-001234-edit.JPG so I don't overwrite the original. If it's just a random image off the 'Net that you want to upload, then just change the size and then save without going through the export and rename stuff.

Probably over the 5MB limit for uploads... drag & drop might not show the msg.

I like the advice of saving to your desktop. Make sure it is either "saved" or "exported" as a .jpg file.
Then choose the "Go Advanced" reply, and upload the picture. There is a neat progress bar that let's you know that you picked the right option.
