Repel an invasion? If they can get here, they’ve got us licked.

Only if they are allergic to water or our bacteria kills them.

BK911 makes a good point. Assuming (maybe wrongly) that ETs aren't capable of trans-dimensional travel, or aren't manipulating the time/space continuum in order to appear here, but are building machines capable of traveling unimaginable distances across space, why then are they allowing themselves to be seen? If an alien civilization possesses that level of technology, I would think they'd also be able to hide from curious eyes if they chose to. If they're here simply to conduct surveillance, wouldn't it be far more advantageous to remain invisible?

And if they're interested in more than just surveillance, why haven't any traces of resource harvesting, or other evidence of their presence, been found? When 15th century Europeans sailed west and 'discovered' the Americas, they didn't just drop in to say 'Hi', then sail back home and never return. No, these voyages were hugely expensive to undertake, and the powers that funded them expected something in return. The plundering of the New World's riches soon followed these initial voyages of discovery. Why wouldn't this be the case for ETs? Why come all this way just to rile up the locals by displaying unusual lights in the night sky?
I have to agree. The universe is just unimaginably BIG. Just our one little galaxy of the Milky Way is but a speck. I have loved science fiction since I was a kid. The Star Trek model of the Prime Directive is a great explanation, but I doubt that is the reason we don't hear from extraterrestrials. There is nothing special or unique about Earth, except the people of Earth and as a different species we might be interesting to observe.

Any civilization that can build a vessel shaped like a tic-tac, that can make a F-18 look like a kite and go right into the water at high speeds has technology so far advance as to be indistinguishable from magic.

If we can keep looking and investigating, maybe develop new technology to identify the objects, maybe we can learn what they are. If they are some alien civilization (very unlikely) it would be fascinating to find out why they are here. Why not land and say hello, or at least send a radio signal of prime numbers.

Earth is unique. There’s not another like it anywhere nearby.

Not every civilization can build a tic tac ship. We can’t.

With the one we saw, I was in the living room when I first noticed it passing at a very slow pace about 500 feet above our neighborhood a couple streets over. I was waiting for it to appear through the window on the adjacent wall, but it never did, so I went out front and there it was hovering over our street. It has a slight hum to it and was now at around 300 feet or so. Circular in form with lights equally positioned around its perimeter.

It hovered there for about 2 minutes than slowly proceed in the same direction it was before. No longer being able to see it, we ran upstairs to the attic where we could see it now hovering over our village downtown a few blocks over. 30 seconds later it climbed at a 45 degree angle and rapidly increased its speed until I lost visual. I remember it like it was yesterday. No, I do not drink or do drugs.

I will assume the latter.

Very possible that's what's here.
Also...
Our solar system is relatively new in the cosmos.
Look what we've done in the past 50 years.
Imagine a life form BILLIONS of years more advanced.
Earth will evolve into WALL-E.
We are domed.
Maybe they didn't have liberals and actually kept moving forward.
Actually the former. Lots of things are unidentified by observers. That doesn't mean that somebody doesn't know what they are.

I believe that most of the reporting sightings are not related to extra-terrestrials.

How many 20 years ago would have believed we would have miniature toy quadcopters everywhere today. Would a US pilot in WW2 have believed we could develop the SR71 or stealth fighters. UxS technology is expanding exponentially. Lots of entities push technology limits.

Lots of research going on around the big 3 superpowers. Have to believe there are programs out there that are not open to many individuals.

Don't get on that ship, the rest of the book - it's a cookbook!

As mentioned in the 60 minutes article, there can only be three possibilities:

Our technology
Foreign Govt technology
Other worldly technology

I'm not inclined to believe it's the first two.

We would be so screwed it’s not even funny. Maybe we are like a reality show for an alien race? Sort of like Idiocracy but real?

What better way to test technology against our own standard forces. I think there are the people who are in true power, the real Deep State, the ones that prop up pawn Presidents that have control of programs to develop next generation weapons. Period!

When you drop SAR swimmers it is called a "10 and 10", meaning 10 feet off the water and 10 knots forward air speed. That didn't work. But at least we were at an altitude I was willing to fall from.

This was at night.

The SH-60B, a wonderful piece of gear, has a max practical forward airspeed of about 140kts, so my options were limited.

Anyway. As I have said many times, I didn't get a massage at the Alien Orchids of Alien massage parlor with R. Kraft, but whatever was flying with me wasn't from this planet.
Mike musta got abuducted by a UFO cause we aint seen him around for a long while.
