Read most of the comments - eff is used more common than ever. It is becoming more acceptable, certainly not a forbidden word as in the past.
I have used it and I try to be aware of the situation and people present. But sometimes it is the right word for a situation.

Having worked with and in the UK, our language is pretty tame in comparison. Plus they have “bloody” at their disposal.
