Oh OK. I have a 1995 Dallara Opel - R. Schumacher. My only F3 model.

You are a genius Curt :D

Your post gave me a brain wave!!!

1 43 cars are quite small so details less noticeable to me and invisible to anyone else so I'll modify exsisting model cars into very close models for my missing cars

Like this 1989CE March Alfa Romeo Indy car, 2nd race car I worked on during my internship

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1739466788.jpg

So I bought a 93 Lola with shiny chrome wheels which I'll respray in red. Or I'll buy another early 90's red Indy car, remove the decals and swap the wheels over

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1739466970.jpg

Already found a suitable F3 model to build my missing F3 from and a F3000 model to build my Indy Lights cars from

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1739467384.jpg

Just need to find away to have custom waterside decals made from 3D photos

Somewhere around here is an Alfa brochure with Pat Patrick and Danny Sullivan's autograph, maybe Guererro, too.

Man, those were the days.

Small world, they certainly were the days, I was fresh, wide eyed and green

Can't believe I've been doing race cars for 35yrs, I've still not been found out and still getting away with it :D

I need to find and buy this poster for my garage wall art

Apologies for a repeat post but 1st time I've had my collection all under one roof

Took the opportunity to do a stock check and update my list to stop myself buying cars I already have

Have 140x cars but missing around 20x

Collection isn't fully up to date, missing 1x F3, 1x Indy, 1x Indylights, 1x F1 landspeed record car and 1x F1 test mule, no models I know of have been produced by model car manufacturers, plan to modify exsisting models that are close in shape

Also missing a Singer DLS, 1x Formula E and 12x F1 cars, all models I know I can buy

I take it you were part of the BAR Project 400?

If so, are you in this screenshot?

Captain Ahab Jr 02-13-2025 02:21 PM

Yes, part of that project but sadly not in that picture

I could have been if I'd asked but didn't find out until the guys got back :(

Honda Bonneville 400 makes it onto my top 5 favourite ever car projects list

Ooh, missed opportunity. Sorry about that...oof.

I'll bet that model could be created "fairly easily" with a stock model and some razor saws and epoxy!

The fact that you have a spreadsheet with hits and misses made me laugh out loud.

I have an engineer friend who plans his epic continental bicycle rides with spreadsheets that have that level of detail on them - with post-ride analysis filling up several pages.

Captain Ahab Jr 02-13-2025 02:43 PM

Makes I laugh out loud too :D

Only have 2x spreadsheets on the go, sad I know but I can't keep track of everything without them

One for my working hours, work flights and holidays

Another to keep track of my model car collection as I've bought a few cars more than once and race car results, this I've kept going for over 10yrs

Also do 'special edition' spreadsheets for planning driving touring holidays

Or when life gets too busy eg my family had left Italy and I stayed on for 9 months to finish my contract while living and working in 3x different countries each week

Not sure how long I have owned this...probably got it as a kid.

I wonder if you can 3D print, or have printed somewhere, the details or items you can't buy.

Good idea Steve, I found a F3 model for a year later car that I could have printed in resin but bought this to modify, plan to use modelling filler

Only $10, lots for sale, so I can have a few goes until I get it right

What I really need is someone who can design and print 1 43 scale water slide decals from photos of a real car

CurtEgerer 02-14-2025 04:10 PM

FYI: You can buy water-slide paper for inkjet printers and make your own decals. Lots of YT vids showing how.

Nothing fancy just a few on my desk. I have a really nice bigger model of my RS but it’s upstairs in my son’s room.

Latest additions: 1991 Le Mans winner Mazda 787B and the 2017 Toyota TS050 Hybrid (which tells you how long an advantage Toyota has had in developing today's WEC Hypercar!). These are both OPO 10. The Mazda is particularly well-done. Incredible value. They were selling the pair new for $24.

Good shopping Curt, was lucky to see the real thing the weekend before last at the Fuji Motorsport Museum

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741614335.jpg

Visited 5x diecast shops in Tokyo over one Sat afternoon and then did 9x shops in one day the following weekend

My collection is almost up to date, orange Caparo T1 on the right is for a friend who helped set up the company and designed a lot of the car

I saw the predecessor, the 767, a couple years ago. So cool. I watched a mini-documentary on the Mazda Le Mans program recently.

That's one car that you need to get out the earplugs when you see the crew getting ready to fire it off. Hell, even the livery is loud.

CurtEgerer 03-10-2025 05:48 PM

^^^ I did not see it run, but I do remember the IMSA RX-7s (maybe that one in the background) racing in the day. Loud would be an understatement!
