One of our friends (female) really thought that was a sink. Not happy when I enlightened her.

I used to have a Lull forklift on site. Occasionally I would catch someone in it, and start to pick it up.....

Superstorm Sandy did this to one on our jobsite:

The rest was never found.

I came in to work on Monday years ago, and there was a green blob in the street. It took us a few minutes, but we realized somebody had burned down a porta John to the ground. I would bet the blob is still there.

I barely make it to the offramp, and as I turn the corner I see a row of about 10 porta potties that were set up for the race. They looked glorious! I was damn near in love.

I race to the first one, and it is completely unused and clean as a whistle. It looked brand new. I figure I must be dreaming. What incredible luck!

Business is done almost instantly but it's hotter than hades is this thing and I am sweating like Patrick Ewing in the 4th quarter. I mean steady drips of sweat - pooling on the floor. And my legs are covered with sweat so much so that I can't get my shorts back up. And the struggle to do so just makes me sweat even more. I begin to have a personal understanding of what Carl the Floorwalker means by "A night in the box."

I finally get myself righted and escape my own private Florida penitentiary. I leave with a new found belief that there is no such thing as "Porta Jon Etiquette." Use of that convenience is never convenient. It is battle conditions.

I'd like to believe I left the place in a decent state of affairs. But I'd guarantee the next guest would assume the puddles on the floor were something other than sweat.

On the bright side, I think my mile splits for the next 5 were the fastest of the race.
Nothing worse than trying to pull your pants up in a porta John, when it’s 100°, you’re sweating bullets and you can only bend your waist a few degrees, while you try to avoid touching anything inside like the plague.

6:15 this AM (barely daylight—I’m in my bathrobe) walked the dog out to pee. We went across the street to a house that’s undergoing a rehab and out of the on-site porta-potty comes some guy in a running outfit. Scared the heck outta me! “When nature calls” he says.

long distance runners need a dump about 20-30 minutes in a run, it's a predictable requirement.

Many with ****ty programming would not keep that in mind with their route, and not keep in mind they'll need a toilet around that time.. and regularly soil gardens with a quick dump till they are discovered..

i heard of somebody who's garden got dumped on almost daily for weeks on end, till they figured out the exact time (very early morning) when a long distance runner would come by, and be in and out with a very efficient offload taking no more then 25 seconds from entry to dump to exfil.. he sure must have had plenty of fibre in his diet..

In my many travels to many different states, I usually prefer the state run "rest stops" to um rest a little. With no doubt head and shoulders above the rest best one was one near LA in a multi story building, with automatic lights and it looked like a high class hotel.

With no doubt the worst of all by orders of magnitude was in Southern California coming from San Diego going west, just off the interstate. I followed the signs to a dirt and gravel parking lot with two port a potties out in the open, full sun. The smell was really bad outside and I knew I could only be in there as I held me breath. Imagine the worst of the worst public access outhouses, and it was worse. I should have just used a nearby tree to pee on. It was a quick pee and back on the road.

Yea, that was a solo trip as my wife would have never gotten out of the car for that joy.

My God, I just realized how ancient I really am: when I was in the Army NG there were no porta potties and we actually had to dig our own latrines when on maneuvers. Being in Headquarters Company, I had the privilege of digging one for the officers use before I got to dig one for the enlisted guys (no gals back then, or else I would have gotten to dig 2 more).

Learning to dig a one man cat-hole was the subject of a "whole" day of Basic Training. I wonder if they even teach that anymore?

Things have changed a lot, however Air Force Medical folks are well taken care of. My Brother In Law, a Navy Doc, is embedded with the Marines, he’s got it a little more difficult than I do.

None of the above. I get in my car and drive down the hill to a Starbucks or someplace clean. I leave the dirty portapotty for my dirty men.

I use them at events but noticed the new ones now do not smell as much as the old ones I used as a kid. Maybe I just can't smell anymore?

LOL! Wow man, talking about the plastic crappers, like the Mr. Hanky on the South Park series, this post is just as bad. You go in, you handle your bizness, you steps out. You hope you didnt step in anything vile or toxic. Truth be known, you probably did. Hose off your boots and move on...
