You need to find it. That's job #1 and coinci-dentally job #2.

Easy way is us a metal detector saves time.

LEAKYSEALS951 07-30-2021 04:42 AM

^ I hear vaccinated people are magnetic ( if no metal detector available)

I have had one of them pop-off when eating...or chewing gum. Never swallowed one.

When eating, I have noticed that something as small as a match-head gets sorted out and I notice it.

How did you swallow something as big as a crown without feeling a 'chewing on a rock feeling'??

A930Rocket 07-30-2021 01:30 PM

On the way Roebling Road, with my little friend...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1627677029.jpg

I barely felt something, but I thought it was a walnut in the salad. Since I have my wisdom teeth, it was the last molar and at the very back just as I was chewing/swallowing.

stevej37 07-30-2021 01:50 PM

If it were me...I would just let it pass.
Not worth the trouble of sorting it out....and your dentist will thank you. :D

Don't even clean it. Just hand it off to your dentist. Let em' earn their keeps.

Personally, I'd hand them the 'filled' colander, have the dental office to sort through it, with the condition you leave one really SUPER BIG google review.

Poor Rocket, he's been the butt of the joke on this one.

I sure hope everything will work out for you at the end, Rocket. Like many said, just go and get another crown put on and be done with it instead of digging through the pile of siht.

Good point!
Tell you what rocket- I've been blowing up your thread with stuff. Truth is, I've pulled about 12,000 teeth to date, and had patients swallow over 3 crowns, and two whole teeth. I kid because of familiarity. Some if it, quite scary. In my situation, if a patient calls in and says "I have a crown off" I assume nothing. It really could be as simple as a recement or- the entire tooth is broken at the gumline.

As far as crowns go, gold is a wonderful material, but, if the crown is worn through, or, if there is decay around the margin, there is no reason to recement- better to start anew.

If I were in your shoes, I'd have a real dentist evaluate your remaining tooth to see if it is worth ruining your colander to save a dead horse.

You are also more than welcome to send me a pm of pics of your remaining tooth to see if it is clinically even a viable candidate to recement the current crown.

That being said, I do love gold!

Either way, have a good track weekend!

A930Rocket 07-30-2021 07:48 PM

I brought the colander, but I am 99.99% sure I’m not going to use it. It was more for grins.

I have an appointment set up in three weeks, when I get back in town from work, to have it evaluated and see what the next step is.

I have a matching gold crown on the other side, so we will see if we go back with gold or something else.

Maybe opt' for titanium. You could use your teeth for all sorts of things after that.

We don't deal with the public, but this lady insisted at the retail store we worked with her gold for the ring she commissioned us. My dad caved and had her come in and give us the gold needed. We were both thinking some old rings, brooch, and such. She open up here hankerchief, it was all old teeth from all her family members. Gross. I almost threw up. We send her on her way asap.

Oh, we should have kept her old teeth and have you pick one to match the other side, rocket.

Go back and see if they can get you in and ask about getting a temporarily crown. Three weeks is a long time if the tooth cause any sensitivity with hot or cold foods.

Apparently gold is better (especially in the back on the no-see-ums) because it's a little soft and won't break, it'll give and bend a little bit. Unless it's in your colon.

john70t 07-31-2021 09:50 AM

Crowns are now available in three flavors with Vitamin D.

(yes get a temporary)

Back in town and didn’t get a chance to filter anything. 😂 I was at Advanced Auto Parts this morning picking up new plugs and cops for a misfire, when natural called.

So you DIDN'T take an oil change catch can with you to the bathroom? A lot of those have screens in the top to catch the oil drain plug.
