Hey douchebag, I finally put you on ignore. Blast away Beeyotch. AKA Thor/tiny penis.

the interior and quality is a significant step up from the more pedestrian model s according to the reviews. Not sure if that will translate to less problems though.

Well, I have taken a "S" out for a spirited test drive, and have a few friends who own them.
That being said, I was impressed with them, and would consider buying one, have a friend who's shop is a certified repair shop (paint and body).
but what scares the hell out of me is if Elon gets bored and let's Tesla go or die, there isn't a secondary market to support it.

What's more amusing to me is the amount of dual motor tesla anything (all of which could outgun a lambo) being driven like for Miss Daisy. They are consistently the slowest-a$$ cars on the road.
If I had one, I'd be testing that 0-speed limit more often - but I won't until they make a pretty one that doesn't look like Daffy duck hit a tree (the S is the only decent looker)

Pffft.

Which S? My pals S from 2010-ish "ripped my face off" with one motor. I mean, I thought.

That was then. This is now.

I see Musk as a walker - not.

My Performance Model S has 67K on it now. It's been in the shop one time, I've had zero issues with it Doesn't go sub 2 seconds 0-60, mine is slow and only goes 0-60 in sub 3 seconds. I drive it everyday on a 110 mile commute. I would buy a new plaid in a heartbeat, although I'm not a fan of the yoke.

Awesome! Don't care! Fast in a straight line is ok for a while. love rowing gears in my 911, no soul in teslas, yes Ive driven them . great commuter car, will keep racing my slow early 911 for the experience.

I love driving my 85 911 even if Subaru’s pass me like I’m standing still.

chapo 08-17-2021 08:47 PM

Can race my little 911 for a two hour enduro easy, how long do Teslas last at full tilt on the track, or most modern cars before heat issues occur?

In track mode you get about 30 mins.

Yes, you said it yourself, it's a great commuter car. I wouldn't drive my early 911 on my commute in the SoCal summer heat if you paid me. Been there, done that, no thanks.

Yea, this time Geronimo is correct.

Wait six months. Geronimo will post video of his 2 sec 0-60 'Stang....

Sure, I'll let you know when that happens and send you money at the same time.
Muststanks are not my really my thing, just so you know.

Now I know the answer to how many Busch Lights it takes before I start talking gibberish. Movin' a little slow this morning. :)

Rolling one foot start which gets the car to 5 mph before timer starts.

Just fix the AC and it can be very comfortable. I drive my 85 911 in HOT weather all the time. Needles CA was 118 and the AC struggled some, but I never broke a sweat. In Savannah, GA with the heat index of 135 that afternoon my wife asked me to turn the temperature UP because she was cold at lunch time. The outside of the car would get wet like a can of beer from the fridge with the AC cranked in 95% humidity.

I did 130 miles of track time at Eagles Canyon Raceway just outside Decatur, TX in my 911. I used about 3/4 tank of gas and was getting about 8 MPG. I needed to buy 10 gallons at the track just to be certain had enough to finish the day, and get on to a gas station on the interstate.

I can't begin to compare my 36 year old 911 to a not yet released new Tesla. The only thing they have in common is 4 rubber tires. My 911 is going up in value and Teslas will go down in value once the supply chain fills up.

Fast is fun but unless you are drag racing everyday what’s the point? Is it fun to drive through the twisties? Does it make you smile when you get in? Porsche just hinted at a new EV that it will unveil in Munich, some are saying it’s a sports car, so we’ll see.

Sorry, I confused with another Pelican with a similar name...

aschen 08-18-2021 07:24 AM

Im not a huge demuro fan, but his astonishment about the acceleration and declaring it the best all around car is telling, as he has driven just about everything.

All around means compromised, but a 2-car garage with a plaid and a manual gt3 or gt4 seems pretty appealing to me when that 250% raise comes in.
