G'day!
|
I only pay $5 per checkup. My APRN is gorgeous and very attentive. I go twice a year.
So far no complaints - except the forms they require to be filled out every year. Last time I was there I got extra copies and will pre-fill and make copies but leave date blank so every year just fill in the year and done. There's like 11 pages....half of them 2-sided. That's my only gripe.....

I have no problem making the visit. Why should he fill out a refill prescription for free? His education, income and license have to be paid for somehow.

I came down with Bronchitis earlier this year and was able to just have a phone conversation with my APRN and she phoned in an Rx for me with 3 different meds. She even granted my request for a Z-pack, which has worked for me on the previous two Bronchitis events. This was when our state had enacted strict cv19 regulations and they weren't bringing anyone inside to their office if they could avoid it. For me it merely demonstrated in some situations an in-person visit wasn't necessary. They have a portal which I use to communicate input back to the office - it's like email essentially.

in my business, i charge by the time…. .1, .2, .5 of an hour for work that actually required my expertise. there are serious problems within the world of medical billing.. i used to think having me come in there a very 3 months was a CYA thing but now i see it’s just to help pay for his overhead

Can see some of that but it gets difficult for people to square that against having to wait a month, 2 months, 3 months plus for an appointment. Healthcare isn't so much about people today. However, it is definitely about money.

- office building costs - personnel to handle billing/coding - nurses to take you to the room and take your blood pressure/etc. - time to review your info. before they talk with you - all sorts of equipment that needs to be checked/calibrated - insurance - profit, if you don't make a profit you will not stay in business - all the phone calls/etc. to setup appointments and answer misc. questions - consumable materials - etc. etc. etc.

Well, in Swedistan healthcare is basically free and the doctors get a monthly pay check. Alas I am, hence, in no position to charge the MILFs a yota. I don´t even get a lousy bottle of whisky for christmas.
