Saw this in PARF and wondered if it was the same guy. Anyone have any connection to verify?

If not true, would be a pretty elaborate post fraud...or a different Randy Webb? Anyway, I had his email...just sent one. Will post if I learn anything.

We definitely had our differences, but I hope this is a mistake...

And I think he was in Oregon. I hope it's not him.

And “thor66’s” last 40 or so posts were also on August 27. So, yes.

I thought Thor was Maddawgi, but I don't keep up. I ignore most of political crap here, and rarely visit PARF, so I never had an issue with all eight of them ;).

Face it boyz .... the long timers here are on short time now ... kinda sux when you've been interacting here for over two decades and then you realize they haven't been around and won't be back :(.

I hope it’s not him but that sure looks like Randy. I don’t think Randy was Thor, though. Randy had been a lawyer briefly and you could still tell from his posts that he had legal training. Thor wrote slightly differently and didn’t show any legal sophistication. Randy always went out of his way to be complimentary to me and Thor was, if not hostile, at least unfriendly to me, so I never thought they were the same person. But Randy could have been so clever that he kept character so well he filled me. Either way, I hope he’s still here. If not, Godspeed.

Randy and Terry had legal backgrounds... I never had an issue or anything negative from them. They both "provoked" as a tactic... for those who engaged :D.

Yep. Had a lot of people fooled thinking that Thor was Corgi when it was actually Webb. Pretty sure that he was Ziggy as well. I guess that some people find it amusing to play around on forums. I don’t get it but then I don’t get a lot of things.

The timeline of him stopping posting and dying sure sounds like Covid but I suppose it could have been something else. Sad. 😞

There are those that meet one another outside this BBS and those who “hold their cards close to their vest” for one reason or another.

RWebb seemed to be the latter, don’t know if he socialized with any Pelicans out in the wild.

Was Randy Ziggy? I did always think Ziggy and Thor were the same person but I was never convinced Randy was behind them.

R webb always had an animoisity towards me. Was he R Gruppe and or Early Registry? If he was then that is the source.

Other than that i never had much of an opinion..except for being opposed to his politics. But then again i am opposed to a lot of peoples Liberal and Conservative politics..i think that they are out to Luuunch! As some other deeper personal ding bat motivation is the driving force.

But let us not digress ..now the man is in the hands of Jesus.Where all the cares of this world fall away and you find the quiet peace of "resting under the tree across the river."

I have no reason to believe they are connected and if so I wasn't made aware. Ziggy was fastashell. He lurked for a while and would text me from time to time but I haven't heard from him since mid summer so not sure if he is still lurking.

Someting is seriously wrong with those guys if they have to keep coming back under assumed identies

I remember that Randy had a strong connection to 'Nawlins and an extensive background there in his youth. Ziggy also posted about attending music festivals there too in recent years. Never really thought they were the same guy... but mebbe so???

When I was a moderator I had a few back and forth PM's with Randy. Seemed very on track. I would have never guessed he had other identities, but I didn't contact the others that I remember. I may have dinged one of them though.

I had a feeling that if I had the chance of meeting Randy, I would have liked him even though he could be a PITA.

I hate to hear of this and hold out hope it isn't the case. But I was jus wondering the other day why I hadn't seen his name recently. Figured he finally got fed up.

Dr. Webb grew up in New Orleans. Cajun country. I count him as a friend even though we have very different views on pretty much everything other than Porsches and food.

RWebb would likely point out that there is something seriously wrong with several people using only one identity.

For what it's worth, no response to my email. So, now pretty sure our resident Marxist has left the planet.

Yow! First Thx for pointing out that this guy is not me, and for alerting me to this thread. I am the Randy Webb in Eugene Oregon who bought JP's 911 (now getting a 3.2L BTW) and often posts on Pelican and Rennlist (usually along the lines of skeptical scientist type stuff on technical matters) - (I'm a scientist (for the last few decades) and a lawyer too (specializing in protecting endangered species).

Now. I don't know that guy. He is not a relative, etc. Also, he should lose the right to use this fine name....


Some friendly advice (and I'm not acting as a nybody's lawyer here, OK) - buy via credit card and refuse to pay if you don't get the goods. It it's already too late for that, then contact the Consumer Protection office of the state the guy's business is in. You can try a BBB complaint also. The FBI and cops won't do anything.

The only other option is to file against him in court. If it's a small claim, then you'd probably have to file in his home state. State laws differ but in Orygun a small claim goes up to $5,000. That may not work for you - but maybe you have a friend who could help and that lives in his state.

He steered me to some papers he said he wrote and were posted on Reaearch Gate. Primary the study of bird nesting. He used D. R. Webb on the papers. Papers were with Wyoming University.

Webb seemed a good enough guy when posting here 20 years ago (when we all largely posted regarding fixing other folks cars). He was a good guy to debate at first (in OT) because he was smart and had some debate skills...and was at first quite a moderate, so you could actually change his mind (as was Corgi for that matter). Maybe that is why he used different personalities...as he could go ether way and stay in character. Some of the politics of the last decade seemed to push some a bit too far (beyond mere spirted debate) in either direction. Life is short. We can learn from this.
