Saw S4E1 of True Detective: Night Country on Max and HBO. Jodie Foster is a Sheriff in Alaska 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle with a bunch of eccentric people. Jodie teams up with Kali Reis, a new actress, former world champion boxer. It's an eerie, creepy, murder mystery. Looks good so far- it's got strong critical reviews. Episodes 2-6 release every Sunday.

Drops of God was recommended to me, but I've only seen the first episode (of eight) so far. The reviews are good. It's only on Apple TV.

Ive seen a couple episodes of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Not super but not bad. I will watch more.

That is a weird show and... I like it. It's different and well written, but not at all what you'd expect based on the title and the movie. Except the episode with Ron Perlman which is very high on action..

Also Masters of the air - WW2 bombers (band of brothers in the sky), apple TV, cool...
And Line of duty (brit antio corruption) - very good too
The Tourist (netflix) was also enjoyable

I finished Mr. and Mrs. Smith last night. Pretty good end of season with a bit of a cliff hanger.

Plan on giving season 4 a try tonight. I did not watch season 3 for some reason.

I watched season 4. I did not really like it. Way too much going on and not one likeable character in the whole story.

The only likeable character I found was Joel D Montgrand as Eddie Qavvik.

This is an independent studio documentary that is actually on YouTube and is a ten part (or more) series about the music/musicians during the 1960's forward.. ending with the Manson murders and also a really weird episode on the Wonderland murders. I was going to dismiss it, but then I was pulled into it. If you grew up during the 1960's and early 1970's you might enjoy it. It's quite well done. There's a lot of inside information and surprising links between bands and people, like Peter Tork and David Crosby, etc...

'Dark' is a German (dubbed in English) three season series on Netflix. It requires your full attention between multiple families, and multiple timelines. The implications of time travel are well done.

Went back a few pages, did not see a mention of Shogun. (Hulu, Fx)

Redo of the old classic with Hiroyuki Sanada - only the coolest actor ever to portray samurai..
It's pretty good so far...

Also started Constellation, apple tv - looks like a space experiment doing something with parallel universes (or not, too soon to tell). Interesting too, starts a bit like Gravity.

I'm basically a student of Laurel Canyon and have read books and watched a ton of videos. I can tell a lot of the story from memory although I somehow never managed to walk into the Troubadour or the Whiskey. I drove by many times in those days. Somehow I missed this series, so thanks. I'll be binging starting tonight.

Somehow I managed to go up Kings Rd from Sunset Blvd quite a bit. The only time I was on Laurel Cyn was to turn left from Hollywood to get to Sunset. At that intersection was the famous Pandora's Box. I did make it in there once. I didn't have a lot of money. What I had I spent on gas.

I would have been useless and an outsider in that world. I was born a hot rodder from the outset and have no musical talent or creativity. They wouldn't have understood me and I would have been a waste of their time. If it didn't have something to do with a car, I was not interested.

Edit: I watched 4 episodes last night. The guy is a researcher for sure. His presentation is barely tolerable. If it wasn't for the information he has turned up, I wouldn't bother. An I wonder about flying drones over private property, showing addresses and license plates. I wouldn't do what he did. BTW, the series was filmed many years ago according to him. Not that changes history. He has re-edited the series and put it back up 2 years ago.

I could be wrong, but I thought that's what he said.
