Do we have this thread for movies in theaters ?
In any case I shoulda posted my review of Rebel moon 2 here (nFlix).. it's dumb as hell but equally the prettiest scifi I've seen. Watch it, FFWd most of it but watch the battle, yowza it's good FX.

Anyway, go to the movies and check out the "ministry of ungentlemanly warfare"... It's surprisingly good, it's like a cross between an old fashioned ww2 movie and a spy movie, with Reacher and Superman acting. It's even funny, and based on a true story it seems. It's a surprisingly good time !

I started watching the series Life (2007-2008). Damian Lewis from Band of Brothers and Homeland is the lead. He plays a cop who spent 12 years in prison before being exonerated and released. His prison term transformed him in odd and good ways, and he goes back to being a detective.

The above was my favorite show back then.
Too bad it was not renewed and kinda wrapped up real quick season 2.
It was very clever and Damien Lewis and his sidekick were great.

I had a problem with a twist in The English, but got over it watching it a second time. One of the best westerns ever, IMO. 6 episode mini series.
The twist in Sugar episode 6 is super off-the-wall. I feel deceived, but willing to see if they can pull it off.

I didn’t mind it and I was totally unaware so very surprised. They did well in that until now, the show was 100% old style Hollywood detective stuff. But something was off, the guy’s reflexes, his strange disease, resistance to booze, his organization of super smart folks, his talent with dogs and avoidance of fights. It’s definitely a left turn but I am willing to ride along. Maybe more so because it opens up another avenue…

The season 1 finale of Sugar is now out. I liked it. It's definitely set up for a season 2.

I just finished season 1 of Happy Valley (6 episodes) from 2014. Middle-aged woman copper in the UK. Very good! Two other seasons available, too. Available through Amazon through AMC+ or Acorn (I did a free trial subscription). The previews give away too much, I think.

I'm a Film Noir junkie and this is a cool show on Amazon Prime. "Decoy" a 1957 TV show about an undercover detective played by Beverly Garland. Groundbreaking for it's time, lasted one season but back then that was 39 episodes.

3 Body Problem on Netflix looks interesting. Sci-fi based on the Hugo Award–winning Chinese novel series Remembrance of Earth's Past by Liu Cixin.

Based on your recommendation I watched episodes 1 and 2. I couldn't go any further although it showed a little promise. E1 was pretty bad. E2 was 2wice as good but still below the level that I wished. It was interesting, though, to step back and for that I thank you.
