If you can't find the double dipped I can try to bring you some when I roll up that way. If nothing else I can swing by, say Hi turtle guy!, drink one of your beers, drop off some beer, then roll on North.

It has notes of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. The chocolate would come from the grains used to make a stout. The vanilla and strawberry would come after fermentation. The beer is on the sweeter side. The Double Dipped has a very "boozy" flavor but it's still on the sweet side. I like both of them but they might not be for everyone.

Nah..that will give me an excuse to stop at their brewery sometime. I'm not that much of a stout fan...yet! The fridge here has plenty of Bell's and Founders...just stop on over!

Hmm, I'll probably pass. Recently, I was at the store and saw something that I thought was a chocolate stout. Turned out it was a chocolate ale. I think I'd have been OK if it was an ale or if it had been a chocolate stout, but I'll probably pass on any chocolate ales that I see in the future (and I may be missing out, but that's OK).

HEY! a stout is an ale. You have ales, generally fermented at warmer temps, and lagers that are generally fermented at lower temps.

I did notice while drinking it...It didn't fill me up as much as some stouts. I could still eat something without feeling stuffed...which I like.

Yeah browns and ambers don't fill you up like a stout does. But I like stouts because they are a meal in a bottle

One of my doctor friends was telling me he read an article about how doctors in Ireland used to prescribed a Guinness Stout to pregnant women as a good source of calcium and minerals.

I'd heard that it was prescribed as well. I suspect many Irish husbands/fathers shared their wives' prescription, probably assuming it was like Popeye and spinach, if some is good, then more must be better!

I've never looked into calcium in a stout but if they're basing it on "milk" stout, the "milk" is nitrogen.

Guinness is nutritionally complete EXCEPT vitamin C and calcium. 48 pints per day to get your ADA recommended minimums of everything.....

35 years ago. Just doing the maths. It would have been 43 years ago. The only American beer us boys could get our hands on was Schlitz. As a teenager I said to the guys "The first thing I do when I get to Hollywood is to go into a bar and ask for a Schlitz." True to my words I went into a bar (slightly resembling the set of Cheers) and asked for a Schlitz. Everyone stopped and turned around, and someone said "I think he's asking for a Coors, we don't drink Schlitz around here." Then a friendly argument broke out amoungst them as to whether I wanted a Coors or a Bud' LOL

Schlitz and Blatz beer were my fathers favorites.
One day I came home from school and there was a fridge in the garage.....I couldn't understand why!

I thought Steve would like to know I'm sipping on a Double Dipped Neapolitan right now.
