Do You Ever Feel Faint?
Sometimes I'll feel faint, light-headed, a little dizzy. This seems to correlate with not eating in a while. Eating something gets me back to normal right away.
For example, I ate some rice and vegetables at 7:00 pm last night, this morning I had a bowl of cereal at 5:30 am. At about 10:40 am I started feeling faint. I ate two boiled eggs and in a few minute started feeling normal. My blood sugar is normal, am not pre-diabetic. I'm hardly underweight (I wish). Anyone have this or similar?

Lack of iron, zinc?
I've stopped having sugar. Sugar in anything. And this happens a lot less with me. And my blood sugar levels and pre-diabetic tests has always been OK. |

No, pretty much never. If I've ever felt faint or dizzy, I freak out a little because it never happens. I once ended up high from building a plastic model in a room with inadequate air circulation. I ended up puking. I was REALLY freaked out to be dizzy and nauseous for what I thought at the time was no reason.
I got benign positional vertigo once and was very dizzy. That really freaked me out too.

If it was me...I would eat something like sausage or bacon for breakfast. Cereal is not enough for me.
I used to skip breakfast and at around 10 am have a diet soft drink. I would almost pass out sometimes.

It's mostly due to not eating before taking my heart meds that causes lightheadedness in me.

Does it happen when you stand up from sitting or lying down? Or just out of the blue?
I get light headed when I stand too quickly and it is related to my heart.

Same. Working hard in the summer is a problem for me. Dehydration happens.

It happens to me a lot. I’m not food oriented. Sometimes I go all day until dinner. I have started carrying energy bars with me now. Ever since I was a kid over exerting myself. Kind of an out of body feeling.

No EKG recently but I’ve been like this for a long time, including when I did last have an EKG which was fine.
Standing, sitting has no effect. Yeah, I think I need to lay in a stash of energy bars. I’ve been eating less than usual due to a resurgent gallbladder issue - yes, trying to get it yanked, but Covid is gumming up our hospitals - and that is not helping.

No, unless there is something seriously wrong. Has not happened since 1992
In your case, maybe a little hypoglycemic.

What I find interesting is that I can do a 24-72 hour fast (nothing but water) and not only not have issues, but I can even exercise.

Every once in a while, yes.
I have an inner ear problem and at various times, vertigo kicks in and kicks my ass. You can’t stand up, you have to either sit down where you are or lean against something. I get it a lot of times, when I am under the car having to look at some things. I guess it has to do with laying down, as it’s also happened while I was in bed. |

Now in 993 land ...

I'd be faint too if I started my day with cereal and then not eat until lunch. I recommend a low glycemic index breakfast such as oatmeal with nuts and fruit, a mid morning snack, light lunch, mid day snack and a decent size dinner. No food 2 hours before bedtime. Good snacks for me are a banana or other fruit, some nuts, cottage cheese.
I find a lot of people overeat once a day and then feeling bad about it, starve themselves trying to make up for it, just ending up super hungry again and redoing the whole cycle. |

Far better for you to eat 3 meals/day with no snacking. That would include sugary coffee drinks, sodas, etc.... All of that stuff just works to throw our bodies blood sugar regulating system out of whack.
