IDK i don't think they're chocked. They're everything the 4r transmissions aren't. I'm not sure of the new 10 speeds.... I'm always weary of being the beta tester on new products. Especially ford....
The glass spark plugs in the 5.4 Triton were a big hit.

I don't know among a ten, six, five or even a two speed powerglide which is optimal. I just like typing after drinking beer.

I wonder if I'm the only one?

He was always a fan of Ford trucks having owned quite a few, and this was his pre-retirement present to himself.

Back in the day, my old Chevy truck ended up not being able to take rough roads, literally falling apart. The cab to floor seams opened up and needed re-welding.
I had a Raptor, 2019. Great toy, but terrible pickup truck. I was hoping to be able to have a "sports car" like pickup truck after slugging around in my prior 2014 Silverado 1500. Problem was it was not able to do things my old pickups could do. Tiny bed. Pillow soft rear suspension. If you put a bag on concrete in the bed the rear bumper would drag on the ground. Forget towing, it struggled with my aluminum open Trailex I had at the time.

Fun for off road and jumping though.

Here's my 2021 blackout package SuperDuty. In it's element with my race trailer attached.

Nick that color/package was plan B if I didn't get the Tremor package. LOVE those wheels, especially against the dark grey.

My Tundra was plenty sporty as a pickup, especially compared to this big beast. Biggest adjustment with the SD is you don't toss one around. The Tundra you definitely could zip about in.

I kinda figured. My comment was sarcastic. I love a good 5.4 ford spark plug story. Changing them on a 6.2 ford is just about twice as much fun as they have double the spark plugs! Either way back OT. I do like a big block engine. Hopefully the 7.3 gas is as reliable as the 7.3 diesel...

Yes I love the Black Appearance Package. It's too bad Ford limits the options/trim level you can get with it. I'd get have gone with a Platinum or a Limited if I could get the black pacakage, but you can only get it with a Lariat and even then with certain options too.

I avoided the Tremor b/c the main reason I have the truck is for towing, although the Tremor is no slouch for towing, I just didn't want the tires that come w/ it and the raised suspension. I went with plow springs on the front to level the truck a bit without raising the overall height like a Tremor would have.

Ugh...Buying a Super Duty Ford is nearly as complex as buying a Porsche. Infinite options, exclusions, and configurations possible.

I'm already thinking i want to put a 2" block in the rear instead of the 3 1/4" blocks that it comes with. Even with the tailgate step thing it's difficult to get in the bed. Truck is mechanically a 350 but sits higher i guess because it's the 'off road' version.

My wife's best friend is married to a man that owns a welding shop. He regularly builds custom trailers, and installs special equipment on it and delivers it to a client. He also carries a large gas powered welder in the bed.

He paid nearly 80K on a Ford F350 and loved it. One day after just 6 months of ownership he was delivering a trailer and the dash just looked like a Christmas tree and he pulled over, and needed his buddy to let him borrow his pickup to haul the trailer to the client and the dealership picked up the pickup. They had it for several months trying to figure it out. They were sure it was fixed, but he went to get it, and on the drive home it did the same thing. The dealership knew he was not going to be happy, so they ended up swapping out that truck, for another brand new pickup for just the cost of the new license tags and taxes.

The second truck has been great and he has a lot of miles on it. The dealership said that Ford wanted the truck shipped to them to figure out just what was wrong. The did not know if it was computers or mechanical. He never heard any more on it, and since it was not his anymore, he did not care.

Well I loved my Sequoia but wife has one as well and once you've had a pickup it's hard to live without one. Trade in prices are flat out stupid so i decided to get back to a pickup. Drove Toyota pickups for 16 or 17 years and LOVE them. Well Toyota has absolutely **** the bed on the 22 and dealers know plenty of Tundra loyalists agree. As a result '21 Tundras are very hard to come by and nearly impossible to get for sticker price. Seems worse than covid alone is causing in the market overall.

So what else is out there that doesn't have turbos, auto stop/start and cylinder deactivation?

Answer-

Old fashioned big block 7.3 with 430hp and 475 lb ft of torque. Way out of my comfort zone here but with this goofy market i've got plenty of room to try it on for size and trade out if i don't like it. Made $6k on the Sequoia after one year and 22k miles. Got this for under invoice (special order).

What a nutty world we are living in!
It sure does look nice.

IMHO - Ford owes him for being put out. At a bare minimum they should have paid for the taxes/etc. I assumed they provided a vehicle while they were trying to make a fix. To make a product that can't be diagnosed at the dealer is unforgivable. To hand the vehicle back saying it is fixed and it was not fixed (did they test drive it?) is even more unforgivable.

I acquired this one, July of 2019. 2018 model, Lariat+ 6.2 gas motor. It has all of 14.5k miles on it. Awesome truck, Everything I ever wanted in a PU and a lot more!

At the time I bought it, the prices were very good. this same rig they want $75k for now....... when I recall what I have in it, the thought brings a HUGE smile to my face.

I really like the locking differentials for plowing up hill in deep snow.

At 500 miles the transmission is absolutely getting smoother.

I might be falling in love.

In the older Super Duty trucks I've had, the only difference between an F-250 and an F-350 is the size of the blocks between the rear axle and leaf springs. Hard to believe but that is it. Same springs, same axles, everything the same.

Looks like a nice truck! I like the body shape on that truck mo better than the current GMC/Chev hd trucks. The GMCs just look too busy.

I put on 11,000 km on the new to me 2016 3500hd over the camping season. It now is up to 35000 km or 22,000 miles. It is a durmax truck with the 6 speed and it gets about the same miles per gallon towing as my old 6.0 gas truck did unloaded.

Funny that my truck isn't that tall. I see factory stock 1/2 tons that sit at about the same height. My friend mentioned that I should put a levelling kit on it but it sits perfectly level with the trailer behind it.

Why oh why won't they let us pay for a 5 or 6 speed manual in one of those? I know there's not a lot of demand, but for those who tow - damn that'd be nice.

My 3.6L twin turbo with the 6 speed does 82 mph @ 2000 rpm on flat ground.
Tow/Haul mode senses your braking and the downshift algorithm helps braking a trailer a lot.
Sport Mode is really responsive on the upshift.
