752 miles on a single charge!
New EV battery maker went from Detroit to the UP and back without re-charging.
And..it was in the middle of Dec, so the heater was also used. https://news.yahoo.com/novi-battery-maker-sends-tesla-173630358.html

very cool.
surprisingly the hand-wringing i thought i would have about our tesla state of charge didnt happen. 320 miles is a lot for us. double that is crazy!!

My wife's car seems to have reduced the amount of mileage indicated on a charge over time. When we got it, a full charge indicated slightly over 280 miles. Now it seems to indicate a bit under 260. I'm not certain if it's some other factors, since the range displayed is a function of the mount of work the car has had to do. For instance, if you're going uphill using more charge, the amount of miles projected reduces, & the opposite is true if the car has been going downhill. I think improvement in battery capacity will bea slow progression.

we have never plugged into a supercharger more than twice. our battery is dead nuts 321 miles at 90% every time. i am very new to all of this, but it is interesting to watch it unfold. (technology)

We've never used a supercharger either - only the outlet in the garage. If with we had started out with a 320 mile range it wold have been nice, but so far we've not used close to a full charge. If we went on a long trip, we'd take my van. I like driving it more, & it gets 20+(maybe up to 22) mpg on the road. So far getting the EV has worked out great for us. Our true up date (solar power generation account) to settle up with the power utility comes up around the 20th of March. I'm looking forward to seeing if/how much we have to pay - or not.

752 mile range in a cold climate is a game changer.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a38668912/750-mile-ev-battery-michigan-startup-our-next-energy/
article with slightly more technical detail, slightly over 200kwh capacity and uses conventional cells as well to augment power delivery. Presumably this new tech has the energy density but not power density of historic cells. I still cant help but think a Plug in hydrid with 50-80 miles ev range and 45mpg afterwards is a better solution to reduced emissions than cramming as much ev range as possible into expensive EV only cars. the solution almost exists today with some improvements in battery tech to a 30k prius prime. Not as fun as a 9 second 140k tesla plaid I know. Toyota pragmatism and engineering seem to be losing the battle to marketing.

I also like the other conveniences of the EV. Siince my wife drives her car more than I do my van, I don't have to do oil changes and all the other associated things that go with a "regular" vehicle. I just rotate the tires. Since I turn 80 this year and don't like doing all that as much as i used to, the convenience is worth something.

752 miles in the winter is a full day of driving for most people. I have done a few 900 miles days in my 911, but I was going to make a three day trip into a two day trip.
Now if they can package it in an attractive vehicle that is not horrid to look at like so many electric cars of the future.

Sounds like quite a breakthrough...wonder when this kind of range will hit the streets?

I am very intrigued by the Ford lightning. Sadly, it could be years before the Dealer mark up madness subsides.
