I watched the video again, but with sound.

Another car honks at him, and then he brake checks them, HARD.

Almost as soon as that happens, he clearly starts planning to get to his gun. It looks like there's a second, lighter brake check a bit later.

Then I hear a noise as the other car passes and he then opens fire. According to the video above, the other car threw a water bottle at his car. The driver is a serious numbnuts, and should be in jail. His kind of stupid is a criminal offense.

It's my opinion that he instigated this. If he hadn't brake checked the other car, my guess is that nothing would have happened. If he had let the other car get past, likely nothing would have happened. He's as much at fault in the whole situation.

This reminds me of the kind of guy that gets in a fight because some other dude calls him a name, which then escalates to pushing and eventually throwing punches and rolling around on the ground.

Yep. I can only assume/hope that the person in the other car flashed a gun.

I just watched the video embedded above. According to that, they threw a water bottle at him.

Too many numbnuts around these days.

Well, there were a couple million Americans carrying guns that day who didn't. And, statistically, there were many who defended their lives and/or the lives other loved ones, who thwarted robberies or burglaries, and who generally just made things difficult for the bad guys. But, yeah, let's focus on this one idiot and say "I told you so..." and try to drive policy decisions based on the one in several million outliers. Because, well, when that's what we want to do anyway, we must take maximum advantage of these exceedingly rare aberrations.

I don't see a gun in the open window of the other car, his hand is beside the car, like it would after having throw a bottle..

Was the other guy agressive, to some extent yes..
was he armed, technically yes, he's in a 1.5-2 ton heavy vehicle that can be used as a weapon indeed.
But so was camera guy, he was doing those same things and had a similar vehicle that can be used as a weapon.

But was he using it ,AS a weapons? no.. he was overtaking.. and about to make a point, or maybe he was going to return the favor of the brake check.. or maybe he was going to force camera car to stop..but he didn't do that , the camera car on the other hand DID do the brake check and in a way forced or attemped to make the other guy slowdown and stop.

What is clear, is the camera guy was getting ready to shoot his gun, he was working up his mind towards shooting.. To many tacticool youtube videos and a small peepee , fear mentality.
But there's NO logic in thinking he would shoot from that position\angle\drivingspeed.

Hell , it doesn't make any sense, a tiny little gun when you are in control of a 2 ton big weapon is the wrong choice either way.. Defensive driving will get you much further then a silly 9mm gun
Shooter/camera guy did not deconflict
he was not defending his castle, nor was he standing his ground.. He was defending his fragile ego
He will need a very good lawyer.

He was blocking the left lane so he's automatically in the wrong.

Firing a weapon while inside a vehicle - or even in a normal sized room - ain't like it's depicted in the movies.

i can't imagine too many scenarios where it's more clear you have zero defense for firing a gun.

Did he post this video somewhere himself? Why in the world would you have a camera facing yourself then after you do something incredibly stupid you post it for the world to see and you get arrested because of it.

I don't think he posted it. I think he volunteered it to the cops. Presumably the media got it and then they uploaded it.
