Black and white parti-poodle - this time full sized ("giant" allegedly at 70+lbs). At a loss, I looked at the B&W things in the house at the time, as I was serious into photography, hence "Ilford" was named. And not for the london exurb.

Thank goodness for timing. Had it been the '90s the poor pooch might have been named Kodak, or TMax. That seems far less dignified...

Our little black rescue kitty that we got last year is forever "Frank". Because of course, who'd name their cat "Frank"?

He seems happy with that... Or he's happy with mountain lion and coyote-free life.

Oy - you'd destine the dog to making pics at I don't actually like. That's cruelty worthy of some commercial with a Sarah McLaughlin song.

I posted Ricky and Lucy early on. Ricky in the middle Lucy on the right. On the left is Dr. Gonzo, my oldest son adopted him from a rescue. At the time he was really into HST books and was reading Hells Angels.

So he named his rescue Dr. Gonzo as a tribute to HST.

Dr. Gonzo is such a good dog. We had put down our 14.5 y/o Lab 2 years prior to this and were taking a dog break. Gonzo made us want a rescue, we found Lucy shortly after.

Same to be said for the dude (Wall?) that does giant-format and giant-er presented images. Technically impressive but so much "meh" for me.

I see a painting and I feel like I can work to understand what makes it great. Photos seem more visceral to me and I either like it or I don't. Perhaps that's why I'm an engineer and not an artist.

Ans if we get another dog that's not just black and/or white, it's gonna be named Portra...

My uncle had a GSD named Bash. He was an amazing dog. I asked him about his name and he said it was named after a fictional character (a dog, I assumed) "Bashstar," but I've never been able to trace it. If anyone knows what Bashstar was, I'd love to know.
