Exactly!

I was actually thinking of that post when I saw the car and how he allowed people right up on it. There certainly were people at the show who had the "trauma nurse" attitude, but he wasn't one of them, and his car looked as good as theirs.

My 356 has a big scratch down the passenger side. Only visible from 7 feet or less. Perhaps keyed? It was there when I bought it in '05. Nonetheless, I get people saying all the time "Oh your car would look great with a new paint job!"

My standard reply "Why then I wouldn't be able to share the jealous lover explanation."

(it's all about patina anyway - isn't it?)

Thanks! Many people can't believe my truck is so old. Sometimes I can't either! I believe the V8 motor did help with its longevity...

Well, I drive a 22 year old Lexus RX300 so...

But in all fairness, I've had the vehicle for only 3 years, Lol.

Not quite as extreme as that 63' Vette owner's story, buy sorta close. My father is the longest owner of a Vette in the NoVA CC. He's had his '66 since '69. Still has his college parking sticker from the '70s on it and his Army base access sticker from when he was in the service.........not sure how many miles though. Over 100k, that I do know.
