Found a dog last night
She was walking in the street a few doors up from where I live. When I approached her, she came right up to me and licked my face when I picked her up. Somebody's got to be missing this little Pomeranian. A neighbor approached me and said she almost got run over by a truck about a block away. He thinks he's seen a short woman walking her (or walking alone sometimes) almost daily in the neighborhood- hopefully she appears. Went to the vet this morning- no chip. I put up ads on craigslist and nextdoor. There was a male that looked almost identical that was lost a few miles away last May, but not this one. Nothing on Facebook. I think I'm going to have to re-join Facebook to post this found dog. I put "small black dog" on craigslist asking the owner to describe the dog. I don't want to get someone who wants the dog to claim it's theirs without proving it.

Put up posters on telephone poles in your area.

Yep ... posters on phone poles... somebody's heart is broken and they might not even be on the Internet.
If you had fireworks in your area.... it might have panicked. Good luck finding the owner Steve! What a cutie

Dog owners ALWAYS have photos of their dog.
Depending on your gut feeling - you could always ask them to show you a photo of their dog before surrendering it - just to make sure. I don't see how any dog owner could protest - if they really loved their dog (or dogs in general) they should understand and agree it's in the dog's best interest. I take a stern stance at people who "lose" their dogs. Not leashing them or going off and leaving them outside somewhere where they can 'escape' - not very responsible. When they finally show up Steve - make sure they get a generous nuggie on top of their head for being so irresponsible. And thanks for taking care of this little one....

What a cutie!
And impressive that you got Santa to pose with the dog. I guess you're shy. I never expect "us" to be old. I assume that's because most of us are still kids at least in our own heads.

You could also call the local dog control office in your town to ask if anyone has reported one missing. I’m sure the owner is frantic.

It may be chipped. The vet can tell you.
Otherwise, I think, let the owner find you. They can come around with photos of the dog to prove ownership and give you a few bottles of wine as a thank you for saving the dog. If no one comes around - cute new member of the family

probably chipped, your vet can scan the dog
My brother did that with a dog that hopped into Mom's car one rainy day. Called the owner early on a Saturday, drunk before 0900. She did not care what he did with the dog. She sobers up and calls a week later, talking some noise about being the "legal owner" of the dog. He told her he gave it to some people that moved out of state. Bottom line, if you talk to the "owner" and they are drunk before breakfast, keep the dog.

I thought I'd read that the first time, but when I rescanned the OP, I didn't see it. I must have skimmed too quickly the first time.
Yep, sounds like there's a new mini-Steve.

Good call on the posters on the telephone poles. I can do that tomorrow. This dog has been well loved and cared for. Her teeth are pristine. I'd keep her in a heartbeat, but I got four already and my brother has one. My neighbor has had her at his house so far, but I'll get her tomorrow- he can't keep her any longer. I'm confident we'll find the owner. No one would abandon this sweetie.

Once you get to a certain age, I think they just send you either white leather New Balance or white leather Nike shoes.

Same here for a pair. The glue holding the rubber sole to the shoe in the front is starting to let go.
One day, I'm sure it will cause a bad trip. I just can't let them go yet....too comfortable. ![]() Cute dog!

If you don't find an owner, I would give that dog to my mother in a second.
Hey man, I just look at the pictures You had a pair of clapped out, beat to hell New Balance shoes? They sell glue that will reattach the loose pieces. Barge cement is what you want

NB 624’s I think.
I have three pairs in rotation, have for years: Glued, wear to town, prom. Cute pup. The owner more anxious than you. Nice job.

Mom's little dog slipped the backyard fence and I got the runaround from a couple of determined scammers. Posters on the corner should do the trick.
