If/when you get the diagnosis you owe it to yourself and loved ones to get educated , consult with several doctors and make the decision that is right for you . To the OP good luck with your recovery .
And it's said that all men will have it if they live long enough. Like you, I was diagnosed in 2016, the day before an aortic valve replacement.(*****ty couple of days) Did some research and did the same treatment protocol - seeds, external beam for 6 weeks and 6 month follow ups with PSA. Saw my prostate guy last week and my PSA is .084, down from .193 6 months ago. My doc says I can consider myself cured after 10 years. Going in he gave me 90 - 95% odds on the seeds being successful versus almost 100% with surgery. I liked the odds and he is world renowned for brachytherapy, having done over 25,000 procedures. Highly recommend exploring this option if things are still contained. Other than passing a bit of blood for a few days, virtually no aftereffects, though when they ran a Geiger counter over my johnson area and it was clicking, I freaked a bit
Cannot overstate the value of yearly PSA testing for all of us over 50. Early detection makes this crap pretty manageable.

PSA ran 4.5 to 6.5 over the last 6 years, had 3 biopsy's this last one showed 50% in one core that was the concern which gave me a Gleason score of 4+3=7 plus the family history. The Doctor suggested DNA testing to see what the cancer was? aggressive or not but with my family history I said lets get it out!

Wishing you the best and an early happy holidays.

Some of my former colleagues created and commercialized that robotic system.

There is even at least one Porsche connection to the origin story of that robot.

Since my procedure I get my PSA checked every 6 months . Just had a test done two weeks ago , still running at 0.1 which has been consistent for 8 years now .

Another zero test. talked with the doctor this time and he said my pathology was not good. My dads PSA started to rise in his late 80's is not 92 and going to this new health care where they specialize in just prostate cancer treatment. Its amazing how they can zero in on just the cancer cell with this treatment.
