Great that you got a good test, but what does, "Pathology not good" mean? Do they know something that is not in the PSA test?
Concerned.

The report showed cancer made it to the outside of the prostate which is not good because it can then spread also showed cancer on the margins where he cuts to remove the prostate. even with all that it looks like he got it all with a zero PSA.. He said always like to cut as far in as he can without destroying any nerves if possible.

He also said that radiation treatment would not have worked for me so its good I didn't choose that route.

Does this mean your prostate did not grow since the last exam?

What does this mean? Your prostate is fine, but you may have cancer spreading elsewhere now?

No.

Pathology found cancerous prostate cells at/near the outer margins of the removed gland. However, PSA lab value is zero indicating at this point no prostate cells spread beyond the gland as they should be secreting prostate specific antigen. All good news!

Knowing the pathology findings, radioactive seed implantation would have been an unfortunate choice when compared to prostatectomy.

Now I understand. The word "removed" helped. I thought we were talking about cancer cells in part of the prostate that was not removed.

OTOH my PSA has been elevated for years but no sign of cancer. Worrisome.

Outstanding! Congrats. Dealing with a bout of prostatitis now. No fun but minor compared to what you’ve been through.

I had the DaVinci procedure a year ago this December. My 9 month PSA in September was undectable, so hopefully I am good.

I had the radiation treatment 3 years ago this past month (3 year PSA level undetectable) and get checked every 6 months. The docs felt they had caught it early enough to avoid the surgery. I had 32 consecutive daily treatments in this giant machine (it was brand new at the time) in a large, lead lined room in the new cancer institute here in Charlotte. Fingers crossed it continues to be at zero PSA. Good luck to all of you! I had sailed along with very low PSA levels for many years then suddenly it shot up to the danger zone and luckily for me the urologists got me in quickly for treatment.
