I am guessing she orders the large diet soda 😋 . Look there are a variety of reasons a person can be obese . And I can sympathize for that person's issues . But on a plane the ticket you purchase is for that seat . And the boundaries of that seat are armrest to armrest .
If you fit within that boundary congrats you can order a cocktail . If you don't fit within the boundary then you have to pay for a second seat . Sorry . The people that fit within the boundary should NOT be inconvenienced by those that don't . If you don't like it maybe you should jog to your destination . Flame away |

The challenge administratively is getting fatties to fess up when the book the trip........ and shocking as it may be............. people lie........... especially fat, lazy, low impulse control, selfish people. So by the time they arrive at the gate for the FA staff to see they are not going to fit in the meat bag rack, there may well be no more seats to be had on that flight.
And of course, drama will ensue........... Administering to the social disruption that narcissists subject society to is a fools errand, and a thankless one at that. No easy way to do it............. tubbo either has a couple of adjoining seat tickets, a first class ticket, or no getee on planee. And it will still be an ugly scene at the gate, every fricking time............ Be great to make a tv show about it!

The whole obese influencer thing is a bummer. There was a diabetic educator on the local news yesterday saying the current statistics are that over 30% of the american population is pre-diabetic and over 80% don't know it. They could "cure" themselves but how many will cut down on calories and increase their activity level. It's been trending in the wrong way for so long.

Other than this instance, I doubt most airlines do that these days.

I am suck of hearing about these folks throwing a tantrum causing all kinds of BS grounding planes making everyone late. They need to be taught a lesson especially in some of those countries where they are not allow to a certain way. I know, I am circling back to 1938 Germany or 1965 China but I think they need to control their anger. Throw her ass in jail for causing a ruckus and put her ass on the no fly zone and deport her to the country next door. Fly home from there and pay another ticket. I can't beginning to think having to seat next to that thing. Does she even fit down the isle to her econo seat?

After seeing pictures of her, I don’t see how raising the armrest would do any good whatsoever. I can’t imagine her fitting in a coach seat and think a first class seat would be a struggle.
I have not flown in a long time, but at 6’-4” and 275, next time I do, I think I will fly first class. |

I really don't care if she is morbidly obese nor do I care if she is an "influencer" (which IMO is a code word for I don't have a real job or any marketable skills"). Those are personal decisions she made and not my problem. What I just can't see is how this person thinks she is entitled to get two seats for the price of one or, make other passengers suffer. Airlines charge me extra if my luggage weighs too much. Why is it unreasonable for them to charge people when they exceed a weight limit?
I suspect that she knows how to scam the airlines by having a big hissy fit and causing a scene (knowing they will cave rather than have bad P.R.). I've seen scammers do that to small businesses and grocery stores. They are on a list for bad checks and when they are told 'no' they start screaming and making a scene hoping the cashier will back down. She got rude and I suspect Qatar won't let you get away with stuff like woke US companies.

Flight attendants need to watch these people closely when they board. If they do not fit within the confines of their purchased seat, they need to be rebooked onto a different flight where they have bought 2 seats. I am not giving up 1/2 of my already small space on a Coach flight for some obese person who invades my small space.

It just occurred to me that the seat is only half of the issue. Imagine someone of her size trying to get through the leg space in the first place. As we all know, the space provided in the front of those seats is a bit on the tight side.

Pretty easy, if you need a seatbelt extender, you are forced to buy two seats or you GTFO of the plane.
Applied equally to everyone it would solve this issue. Her picture almost influenced me to barf. |

What about an emergency evacuation? Imagine someone that size trying to rapidly egress? It would not end well.

What do they do in the lavatory?
Can they seat in those toilets? Can their fat hands operate the little faucet? |

I'm envisioning a little "go-nogo" gauge similar to those that some airlines use for carryon luggage. If it fits, it goes. If not, other accommodations will have to be made.
And 66k followers maybe might get you a free dinner at Applebees, so no real loss on that front. (however eff this entire influencer thing - it's so useless and toxic)

On my last flight I picked the aisle seat when I made reservations. I was seated on every flight next to men that likely all played as linebackers in the NFL. They all had shoulders that were wide. None of them were fat, just different random men to sit next to that all had shoulders that made me fly bent over a bit, or if I sat up straight, touching shoulders with a stranger.
