I just asked GF where she bought it for me and she said five bucks from the shoe repairer. Umm, shoe repairer. Probably those travel shops that have all sorts of fancy concealable bags and stuff would have them. I was going on a holiday to an Asian country and she explained how they are all crooked as hell in Asian countries LOL

^^^ Or...they know how to make a buck.:D

I still carry the old school George Costanza leather file cabinet 😋 . Still works fine for me .

How do you carry yours?

The ones I see in the Dept. Stores are a much cheaper quality looking.

Front pocket. Great product.

This. All of the point of sale readers I have seen require the card to be almost touching it or in physical contact with the display. There is no power or battery in the card, so the receiver has to a supply it. Maybe the crooks have some monster powerful reader.

My CC company has my back, and if their card gets compromised, it is their loss, not mine. I am not even a little worried about it. If the CC companies were worried about it, the card would come in a protective sleeve.

No tin foil hats for me.

If you've never been hacked then it's easy to mock people who are concerned about it. My ID was stolen from my employer's data base along with 10,000 others. I had to deal with dozens of attempts against my credit, my taxes and my banking. There was even 1 attempt against my investment portfolio, but my FA was all over that.

The reason I would buy one (and I prob will) is because I don't like carrying a wallet in my back pocket and am getting tired of having 3-4 cards and green in my front pocket. These look like a good way to organize that stuff.

As far as the RFID stuff....that wouldn't be my reason for buying one...but if it helps, it's a bonus.

Front right pocket narrow end down, with reader glasses in tube case to the right side of the wallet.

Nice leather, easy to grip and slide in/out of pocket.
Nice solution esp. since I hate sitting on a back-pocket wallet.

So are fire extinguishers and helmets.

stevej37 12-04-2022 04:28 AM

Because this is a first time trial...I went with a less expensive one. $22
If I like using it, I may upgrade to a Ridge later.

Looks good!

I got this one a year and a half ago. It was only $15 back then. It's the same as the Ridge carbon fiber that was $140 IIRC at the time. Love how small and light it is.

I see that the one I bought above is available with an Airtag for an additional $4.
That wouldn't be important to me.

stevej37 12-04-2022 10:03 AM

Anyone use an Airtag with their wallet?

stevej37 12-04-2022 10:59 AM

Also...a hard wallet like these are never worn in a back pocket. Front pocket or use the clip to hang on the belt.

Not quite the same thing. Fire extinguishers have a very real life function and do helmets. When my CC company sends me a RFID sleeve to keep my card in I will accept it is a real issue. Until then, it is just a tin foil hat product. Like a copper bracelets, crystals or sleeping under a pyramid and whole body detox for a liver cleanse of unnamed "toxins".

The CC companies are the ones that are going to take the financial hit if crooks can steal your CC info with a scanner.

I have had my CC info stolen before, and the CC company shut down the account, and sent me a new card. It is a royal pain to contact all the companies that automatically charge my CC, but not painful. It is not a Identity theft issue, the CC does not have my bank passwords and SSI number.

Amazon-

Got these more as an experiment. Dang thing works purdy dang good. The Tap/Scan feature will not work on any of the chipped cards even when it’s at the very front of my thin wallet and it’s buried in the back. Supposedly has an effective blocking range of several inches. I’ve experimented with several CC’s and the chip has been blocked on all. I remove the CC and the chip works as designed. I do use a shin wallet, fits in the front, back or side pocket.

The card block is thin and is not bulky. As you can see, it’s been beat up in the ol wallet for a long time. Amazon has a pack of tan for $14 if I remember correctly. Seems to workhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...83782c2558.jpg

Or is it unlimited? (I've never used one)
